Don't miss this over-the-top stage adaptation of the show that single-handedly revived the cocktail - "the cosmopolitan"...and premarital sex! Velvet Rage Productions presents: Sex and the City: LIVE! Featuring San Francisco's finest drag performers in two episodes each night. The show runs for an open-ended engagement, every Wednesday night beginning tonight, January 16, 2013 at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Rebel in San Francisco (1760 Market St. at Valencia St.).

After its sold-out smash run last year, Sex and the City: LIVE! is back with brand new episodes. Each performance will feature two episodes based on the iconographic TV show that ran on HBO from 1998 - 2004 (now in syndication).

Whether it's happy hour with co-workers, or late night shenanigans with best friends, every Wednesday night the cosmopolitans will be as plentiful as the laughs in this uproarious drag send up.

Your favorite four women from "the city that never sleeps" are about to invade "the City by the Bay"! From the creators who brought you the stage adaptations of such shows as Roseanne and Designing Women, Velvet Rage Productions is proud to announce the return of Sex and the City: Live! - featuring a cornucopia of the most uproarious and ribald moments of the ground-breaking series. The "girls" are four young professional women in search of the perfect relationship and, of course, org*sms. Each episode features multiple storylines that tackled relevant and modern social issues including sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, safe sex, promiscuity, femininity and of course shoes - while exploring the difference between friendships and relationships.

Sex And The City: LIVE! features San Francisco's finest drag performers including: Heklina (Trannyshack / The Golden Girls) D'Arcy Drollinger (Project Lohan), Lady Bear (Roseanne), Trixxie Carr (Lily's Revenge), Leigh Crow (Elvis Herselvis), Cookie Dough (The Monster Show / The Golden Girls), Jordan Wheeler, and more! The show is directed by D'Arcy Drollinger.

Sex and the City the original HBO series received both acclaim and criticism for its subjects and characters, and spawned two feature films, Sex and the City (2008) and its sequel Sex and the City 2 (2010). It also won seven of its 54 Emmy Award nominations, eight of its 24 Golden Globe Award nominations, and three of its 11 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Sex and the City still airs in syndication worldwide and has been listed on Entertainment Weekly's end-of-the-decade "best of" list and as one of Time magazine's 100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME.

Heklina (Carrie) gained fame as Trannyshack's erstwhile MC, keeping a tight rein on the chaos with her unflappable humor and sparkling wit. She is a premier hostess and DJ for hire around San Francisco, and has graced the Folsom St. Fair, Castro St. Fair, Gay Pride Main Stage, Castro Theater, and Halloween Main Stage, in addition to hosting numerous fundraisers for, among others, PAWS, Project Open Hand, AIDS Housing Alliance, Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic, Bay Positives, Lyric, the AIDS Emergency Fund, the UCSF Positive Health Project, Community United Against Violence, and Marriage Equality. She has been seen on the E! Entertainment Network, NBC's "Trauma" "The Cho Show", VH1, "Playing it Straight", Comedy Central's "The Daily Show", BBC Television's "Around the World in 80 Raves", the Scissor Sister's "Filthy Gorgeous" video, and as a guest on the Jerry Springer and Ricki Lake shows. Her film credits include the festival favorites Baby Jane? and All About Evil. Theater credits include a starring role in the 2006 Theater Rhino production TROG!, and producer and featured actor (in the role of Dorothy Zbornak) in the popular San Francisco Golden Girls plays. She was voted Community Grand Marshal of the 2004 San Francisco GLBTQ Pride Parade, and was the subject of two documentaries in the 2005 Frameline SF Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. D'Arcy Drollinger (Samantha) D'Arcy Drollinger's original works include: Project: Lohan, Scalpel!, The Possession of Mrs. Jones, Pink Elephants, Above and Beyond the Valley of the Ultra Showgirls, Suburbia 3000, Shit & Champagne, The Cereal Killers, and the upcoming, Mr. Irresistible. D'Arcy has also worked as an actor, director, choreographer and producer. Other credits include: The Producers (first Broadway production), Hairspray the Musical (first Broadway production), F.A.G.G.O.T.S. The Musical, the Thrillpeddler's revivals of the Cockettes musicals Vice Palace & Hot Greeks, and VH1's Divas 2000 featuring RuPaul. He directed and co-starred in the stage adaptations of Sex and the City: LIVE!, Designing Women and Roseanne, as well as playing the role of Chrissy Snow in a live version of the TV classic, Three's Company. He is a co-founder of Back It Up Productions and Crackers In Bed, INC. D'Arcy is the creator and resident choreographer for Sunday Skool - every Sunday at the Academy of Ballet - and home of the SF based dance troupe SexiTude! He is an original member of the critically acclaimed post-punk SF art-rock group Enrique and a firm believer in the ridiculous. Drollinger has been a participant in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop and is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

Lady Bear (Miranda) exploded onto the SF drag and performance art scene soon after discovering the east coast was tired in 2008. Getting her start in the infamous Trannyshack club, she was soon appearing regularly in every venue in town & she's had her finger on the pulse of SF's night life and performing arts scene ever since. Easily straddling the gamut from high brow to trash culture, she keeps her audiences captivated, whether it be on a stage, a club or the 7-11 parking lot. The consummate "Model, Actress, hooker" Ladybear has branched out into acting after becoming a featured member of the Midnight Mass players where she took title roles in productions of "Bearbarella" and has since starred in stage productions of "Sex in the City: Live!", " Designing Women" & "Roseanne", she's also available for weddings, bar mitzvah's, hell....just make an offer... She has also branched out to other cities, becoming a fixture on the LA drag and nightlife scene, She hosts the monthly Nightclub Cub Scout with LA nightlife legends Chris Bowen and Victor Rodriguez after having appeared at legendary Shits & Giggles, Bears in Space & Brown & Serve. Always looking for new scenes and new audiences she has toured with Trannyshack to LA, Seattle, New Orleans & Austin TX.

Trixxie Carr (Charlotte) is a faux queen, musician, playwright, and SF native, who performs regularly on the famous Trannyshack stage in addition to countless other drag events at nightclubs, political benefits, fundraisers, festival events and street fairs. She fearlessly mixes comedy, performance art, dance and theater into musical montages, with an eye for social relevance, glamour, and philosophy. Having returned from the UK debuting 'trixxie carr: The Right to RULE!' as part of their Cultural Olympiad, she won the title of Miss Tiara Sensation 2012. Her first EP, 'A Souvenir for the Existentialists', was self-recorded in her SF home and released in 2011. Her first play, "Hold Me Closer, Tiny Dionysus" shocked and stimulated audiences at CounterPULSE with its frank discussions of drag, theatre, history, mystery - and then there were puppets! Reusing and recycling are actions she champions, as well as a D.I.Y. spirit. Recent credits include Peaches Christ's touring live pre-show for 'All About Evil', which included sold-out showings in Manchester, UK and Lausanne, Switzerland as well as appearances in NY, LA and SF; Taylor Mac's "The Lily's Revenge" at The Magic Theatre; "WorkMore!" at CounterPULSE and singing music from her EP at The Castro Theatre for "Silence of the Trans"! trixxiecarr.com.

Leigh Crow (Mr. Big), Last seen as Dan Connor in "Rosanne" Leigh is pleased to be back and bigger than ever as Mr Big! Entertaining the bay area for 25 years as Elvis Herselvis and others. Catch her with her bubblegum band The Whoa Nellies(.com) or at the The Hypnodrome in any number of Cockettes musical revivals.

Cookie Dough (Ensemble) is an over-the-top personality and wild antics on stage and screen has made her an overnight sensation 20 years in the making! In the Spring of 2002, the ambitious entertainer launched "Cookie...After Dark." the cabaret show continues at Martuni's lounge in SF. In 2004, "The Monster Show with Cookie Dough & DJ MC2" was launched in the Heart of the Castro. After nearly a 5 Year run at Harvey's Bar & Restaurant, the show has found a home at the newly remodeled Edge Bar, weekly on Thursdays, it is the Longest Running Drag Show in the Castro. Winning Best Drag Act - Best of the Bay 2006, Playing to sold-out audiences for the past five years, Cookie has co-produced The Golden Girls; amusingly playing the sharp-tongued character Sophia Petrillo. In 2010, Cookie was elected Grand Duchess Of San Francisco. This 38 year old Fundraising Organization fits in with Cookie's kind and giving spirit. Whether it is fundraisers for a wide array of local organizations or nonstop professional gigs, Cookie plans to remain on the stage for a long time to come.

Jordan Wheeler (Ensemble) has been acting since his stage debut as Timmy the Tuna in the 6th grade. He has been involved in all aspects of production including stagehand, stage manager, producer, and director. He even went so far as to study Opera at the Catholic University of America before dropping out and escaping across the country. He is excited to have finally found a home and a family within the San Francisco community where he regularly performs as a man-prop with a slew of drag queens. This will be his third appearance with Velvet RageProductions, first staring as Mr. Cocky and the man with the funky spunk in the original run of SATC, and again as D.J. in the fabulous Roseanne, LIVE.
