PB Photo Centre CEO Fatima NeJame Joins Committee for 4th Annual NY Portfolio Review

Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the world-renowned Palm Beach Photographic Centre (PBPC), today announced that she has been selected to be one the reviewers at the prestigious fourth annual New York Portfolio Review, which is sponsored by The New York Times Lens Blog and City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism.

Held in New York City early next month, the event will gather 150 photographers and 75 of the most influential editors, curators, gallerists and book publishers for two days of private photo critiques.

According to an article published in The New York Times (1/14/16), "This will be an opportunity for people in the photographic community to meet, trade ideas, help each other -- and have fun. Saturday, April 2, will be for all photographers 21 and older. Each participant will receive six private critiques. Sunday, April 3, will be solely for photographers 18 to 27 and will consist of at least four private critiques for each participant, as well as workshops on how to best present, promote and publish your photographs. (Reviewers) will screen all applicants and choose 100 participants for Saturday and 50 for Sunday. All kinds of photographic work -- from fine art to photojournalism -- are encouraged."

Running through April 30 at the Palm Beach Photographic Center are two major exhibits:

+ A retrospective of works by legendary photographer Walter Iooss, Jr., who has shot more than 300 covers for Sports Illustrated, including the annual Swimsuit Issue more than 40 times. The recipient of this year's prestigious FOTOmentor Award at the Photo Centre's 21st annual FOTOfusion last January, Iooss is known for his award-winning images of the world's greatest athletes, including Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, Scottie Pippen, Kelly Slater and more.

+ SUPER BOWL, SUPER PIX: Inside Images of Super Bowl 50, featuring 21 different eye-catching, bone-crushing images by three extraordinary sports photographers: Dick Druckman, Paul Kitagaki, Jr. and Paul Kuroda, all courtesy from ZUMA Wire. Held on February 7 at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco, the 50th annual Super Bowl pitted the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers. Thanks to incredible performances by quarterback Peyton Manning and linebacker Von Miller, Denver charged to a 24 to 10 victory.

A registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Palm Beach Photographic Centre is dedicated to the enrichment of life through photographic exhibitions, workshops, community programs, and other educational and cultural events that promote the photographic arts.
