Joshua Beamish's LONE WOLF Makes Vancouver Premiere

Beamish presents the Vancouver premiere of his first evening of solos, each exploring facets of his persona, both public and private, to reconfigure and superimpose creative perspectives.

Beamish presents an evening of solos created by Noam Gagnon, Ame Henderson and himself, each exploring facets of his persona, both public and private, to remix his own image and to superimpose creative perspectives. LONE WOLF originally premiered at The ROMP Festival in Victoria, BC in July 2016, while early versions of the commissions from Henderson and Gagnon first played at Dancing on the Edge 2016. Lone Wolf, or selections from it, have since been presented at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the Brian Webb Dance series in Edmonton, Danceworks Co-Works/Dancemakers in Toronto, the Hudson Valley Dance Festival/Dancers Responding to AIDS, the Rockefeller Brothers Pocantico Center in Upstate New York, the Summer Heat Festival in Tulsa, the University of California Santa Barbara, Cape Dance Festival in Provincetown, the Chicago Dancing Festival, the Battery Dance Festival in NYC, the Martha Graham Center in NYC, the Baxter Dance Festival in Cape Town/South Africa and through South Korea at the Seoul International Dance Festival, the Sejong International Dance Festival and at the Busan Dance Market. These works were created with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council and the Hamber Foundation.
