Jewish Life Television (JLTV) will broadcast highlights of Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre, coast-to-coast on the eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre), today, September 13, 2013 (5774) and on Yom Kippur, Saturday, September 14, 2013 (5774), Rabbi David Baron of the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre announced today. The services will also be broadcast coast to coast via DIRECTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and other cable stations, as well as on the Armed Forces Network, reaching military bases and embassies globally.

Rabbi Baron said, "The program will feature last year's Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur guests, including Ela Weissberger, one of the few living Holocaust survivors from Teresienstadt Concentration Camp; Josh Fattal, an American hiker arrested by Iranian security forces on charges of espionage; Laurie Rubin, a blind opera singer; Ari Ryan, a victim of Anti-Semitism at the Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica, CA and Richard Kagen, who wrote a new song called "My Soul Is Yours," dedicated to his childhood and lifetime friend, the late Marvin Hamlisch."

In addition, the broadcast will include musical performances by the temple's cantors, Ilysia Pierce and Jordan Bennett, two Broadway performers, along with performances by the temple's choir composed of singers from the Los Angeles Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale, led by the temple's music director and composer, Sharon Farber. Also appearing in the broadcast will be some renowned performers, including: Jason Alexander, Larry King, Jason Segal, Sela Ward, and in a moving tribute, Dr. Judea Pearl, the father of the slain Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl. This year represents our 17th year of internationally broadcasting and webcasting our Yom Kippur services for the homebound on JLTV.

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year on the Jewish calendar; it is a day of prayer and fasting for Jewish people around the world. The Eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre) on September 13, 2013 (5774) and Yom Kippur on September 14, 2013 (5774), represent the end of a 10-day period of repentance and introspection which begins with the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, on September 4 and 5, 2013 (5774).

Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts' Yom Kippur program, especially filmed for the homebound, will be aired on JLTV (Jewish Life Television) and can be viewed coast-to-coast on DIRECTV, Comcast, Time Warner and other cable services. Highlights of last year's Kol Nidre services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre will be broadcast nationwide on Friday, September 13, 2013 (5774) at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on both the East and West Coasts. Highlights of last year's Yom Kippur services held at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre will be broadcast on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon on both the East and West Coasts.
