Douglas Hassan, a husband, father, surgeon, author of several scientific publications and devoted writer, has completed his newest work "The Reservoir": a gripping and potent tale takes the reader on a frightening journey through death, deception, crime and terrorism.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Douglas Hassan's adventure thriller chronicles the quest to stop an attack that could lead to mass genocide.

CIA agent Mark Freese is on a mission to find a very dangerous man. A Dutch sea captain is executed by Somalian pirates. It seems there is a connection to the elusive insurgent. The terrorist, Pakistani physician, Yusaf Hashmi, is trying to obtain a sample of a new Ebola strain to create a biological weapon. The strain is highly contagious and can readily spread by aerosol.

Meanwhile, the eyes of the world are on a recent deadly outbreak of the virus in the Congo. A scientific expedition begins with a team from Seattle. Dr. David Carson, Dr. Alister Wallace, adventurer Richard Solomon, and security consultant Earl Freeman embark on a search for an undiscovered species of highly evolved apes that carry the virus. They travel to Paris where Dr. Marie Robinette, a virologist at the Pasteur Institute, joins the expedition. The journey takes them down the Congo River and the isolated Virunga Mountains with unexpected dangers and conflicts. Hashmi is closely following the progress of the expedition.

Mark Freese becomes aware of the bioterrorism threat. With the help of CIA analyst Melissa Chernoff, Mark continues the pursuit of the extremist and his associates. The chase takes him across the globe in the hunt for Hashmi.

Readers who wish to experience this chilling work can purchase "The Reservoir" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
