AMBI Takes Home Top Prizes at Italian Contemporary Film Festival

AMBI Pictures, the film development, finance, production and distribution company run by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi, was the recipient of several prestigious awards at the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) for their first feature 2047 - Sights of Death, which made its gala World Premiere at the event.

Lady Monika Bacardi was bestowed the Best Producer Award while Stephen Baldwin and four-time Primetime Emmy nominee Danny Glover (both of whom were in attendance) received the Best Actor Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively.

"The Canadian public warmly welcomed 2047 - Sights of Death with five minutes of applauding at the end of the screening," commented Cristiano De Florentis, Chairman of ICFF. "We are very honored to have hosted the World Premiere of Lady Monika and Andrea's much anticipated film."

Directed by Alessandro Capone, 2047 - Sights of Death is scheduled to premiere in Italy on June 24, 2014. The sci-fi action film also stars Rutger Hauer, Daryl Hannah and Michael Madsen alongside Baldwin and Glover.

2047 - Sights of Death was made in efforts to bridge the "Italian and American film industries and talent together to attract an international audience," explained Andrea Iervolino.

2047 - Sights of Death is set in the futuristic setting of 2047. Their planet is ruled cynically and with the repression by a Confederate Central Government. Countries that have not joined are scorched earth. Ryan, a rebel agent by GreenWar (Stephen Baldwin), is sent on a mission by Sponge (Danny Glover), head of the Organization, in order to collect Evidence with which to nail the military wing of the Government to his heinous crimes. On his way there, however, the formidable Colonel Asimov (Rutger Hauer), assisted by major Anderson (Daryl Hannah) and by some unscrupulous mercenaries led by Lobo (Michael Madsen), and his mission will turn soon in a close showdown, which affects very closely his tormented past. His side will only have Tuage (Neva Lions), a survivor and maybe a mutant, so innocent that we can only be dreamed of, so bloody that believe in hell.
