Patricia Artigas, Lauren B. Leichtman And Sean V. Madnani Elected To LA Opera Board Of Directors

Patricia Artigas, Lauren B. Leichtman and Sean V. Madnani were elected to the LA Opera board of directors at a recent meeting of the board.

Patricia Artigas is a retired partner at Capital Research Global Company, a subsidiary of the Capital Group Companies, where she worked for 22 years as an investment professional, with a focus in Emerging Markets. Previously, she was Head of Research for Bankers Trust Argentina. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, she emigrated to the U.S. in 1995 to work for Capital Group. She has a BA in economics from the Argentina Catholic University and an MBA from the Macroeconomics Study Center. She also serves on the board of the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, the second largest charter group in Los Angeles. She is married and has two children. The family has a foundation through which they support different initiatives related to education, the arts and Catholic missions.

Lauren B. Leichtman previously served as a member of the board from 1998 to 2012. She and her husband Arthur E. Levine were the leaders in establishing the Producing Partners, a program designed to build LA Opera's inventory of new productions. They are members of the 20th Anniversary Angels and have underwritten productions of Don Pasquale (2001) and The Marriage of Figaro (2004; revived in 2006, 2010 and 2015). A private equity investor for more than 33 years, she is the Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, which she co-founded in 1984. Before that, she practiced law for approximately ten years, including three years with the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She currently serves on the boards of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Southwestern Law School and the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center.

Sean V. Madnani is a philanthropist and enthusiastic supporter of the performing arts. He was formerly a member of the San Francisco Ballet's Christensen Society and also served on the board of directors of the Boch Performing Arts Center in Boston, where he remains a benefactor. Mr. Madnani is currently a Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Securities, LLC, a division of Guggenheim Partners; previously, he was a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Blackstone (NYSE: BX). He graduated from UC Berkeley as both a Cal Alumni Scholar and an IBM Thomas J. Watson Scholar.
