ANTAEAN

BIO:
The name Antaean comes from Greek mythological giant named Antaeus, whom was born son to Gaia and Poseidon. Because of this, Antaeus was indomitable while he was touching the earth. The band takes meaning with this name as a symbol for how they operate as musicians; as long as they keep their feet on the ground, there is nothing they cannot accomplish. The band was formed in 2007 by catalyst and guitarist, Ben Schwarzwalder, along with drummer Mark Maslowski. Shortly thereafter, guitarist Eric Morgan and bassist Diego Villasmil set instantly with the vision of the founding members adding their unique style. Looking forward, Antaean continues to feed their creative fire by composing unique and attractive songs for themselves and their audience. Their ability to please a crowd has been well known by their loyal fans for years, giving them the opportunity to headline venues like the Alrosa Villa, Skully's Music Diner, the Newport, A&R Music Bar, Scarlet & Grey, and countless more. Antaean has left its mark progressing itself to one of the best local bands in the city. Antaean was featured during halftime of Crew games with their song entitled "Black and Gold" as a crowd pumper and to promote "The Nordecke". Antaean has risen onto the music scene in the city of Columbus, Ohio, which the four members have called home for several years while attending the Ohio State University. Antaean has been defined by its fans as "classically-influenced Rock band with a modern twist." Willie Hunter, a noted music journalist and head of Fresh Entertainment once told Ben Schwarzwalder, "you have 'it'."
