Sam Smith Set to Perform at MTV Video Music Awards

According to, Sam Smith will bring his soulful melodies to the MTV Video Music Awards. As if the Artist To Watch/Best Male Video nominee's impending performance weren't exciting enough, we've also got word that a few more superstars will be hitting the stage: namely, a presenters' list that includes Lorde, Demi Lovato, Taylor Schilling, Laverne Cox and Uzo Aduba from the cast of "Orange Is the New Black," Dylan O'Brien from the forthcoming "Maze Runner" movie and "Teen Wolf," "Vampire Diaries'" star Nina Dobrev, Jason Derulo and Trey Songz.

Beyoncé has joined the all-star line up for the highly anticipated 2014 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS. The entertainer is an 11-time winner for her solo work and as a member of Destiny's Child. This year, she tops all nominees with eight nods, including Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Choreography.

Also set to appear on this year's show are previously announced performers Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5.

In addition, Beyonce will receive this year's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The honor has been previously given to Jackson, Madonna , Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

The VMAs will be telecast at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Aug. 24 from The Forum in Los Angeles
