Recent Cutbacks' KEVIN!!!!! Returns to The PIT This Month

The Peoples Improv Theater has announced the return of KEVIN!!!!!, the New York Innovative Theatre Award-nominated show from Recent Cutbacks (Hold On To Your Butts and Fly, You Fools!), tonight, December 8, through December 30, 2017.

Kevin is alone...at home. Featuring live projections, puppets, and a four-person choir, KEVIN!!!!! is told in Recent Cutbacks' signature brand of humor, nostalgia, and thrilling theatricality. Discover the true meaning (maybe) of Christmas with KEVIN!!!!!.

Kristin McCarthy Parker (Puffs) directs Nick Abeel, Sonia Mena, Natalie Rich and Kyle Schaefer. The creative team includes Kelsey Didion (Musical Arrangements) and Richard Sears (Choir Director). The choir is comprised of Sarah Godwin, Evan Maltby, Richard Sears and Michelle Vo. Lanie Zipoy serves as the producer.

KEVIN!!!!! was a sold out hit last December at The PIT where The New York Times hailed it "one breathless hour", Show Score called it "One of the Top 8 Holiday Shows", and Theatre Is Easy raved "it's a reminder of the joy of live theater - something you can't get from just re-watching the movie." It was nominated for the Outstanding Performance Art Production New York Innovative Theatre Award. In spring 2017, Recent Cutbacks further developed the puppetry and technology of the show through the Theatreworks residency at City College of Technology.

Recent Cutbacks' other shows-Hold On To Your Butts and Fly, You Fools!-have been hailed as "pure, unadulterated fun," by Onstageblog.com, and "very nearly perfect," by Theater Is Good. They have played to audiences in New York, Chicago's Second City Training Center, and Indianapolis.

Performances of KEVIN!!!!! run December 8 through 30 at The PIT Striker Main Stage (123 East 24th Street; Subway: 6 to 23rd or N/R to 23rd). Performances are Friday, December 8 at 9:30pm; Saturday, December 9 at 8:00pm; Friday, December 15 at 9:30pm; Saturday, December 16 at 9:30pm; Friday, December 29 at 8pm and December, December 30 at 8pm. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased in advance at www.thepit-nyc.com.

On December 29, Recent Cutbacks will perform two of its shows as a double feature: KEVIN!!!!! at 8pm and Hold On To Your Butts at 9:15pm. Tickets to the Double Feature cost $30 and are available at thepit-nyc.com/event/2017-12-29-double-feature-KEVIN-and-hold-on-to-your-butts.
