Texas' Jerrod Medulla Scores #1 With Dean Dillon Tune Texas Singer/Songwriter Jerrod Medulla is enjoying his first Number One single with "Unbroken Horses" from his independently released album, Suits Me. The song reached the Number Two spot two weeks ago and jumped to the top spot last week on the Texas Regional Radio Report.

A gritty-voiced Texas native, Medulla moved from Lubbock to Dallas several years ago and began honing his own writing and performing skills. With a warm stage presence and a style that's been called "Texas roots in a pinstripe suit," Medulla is at once traditional and the next minute edgy. His music is multilayered and textural; sophisticated Americana with a pop-rock edge.

Suits Me boasts surprising instrument combinations and arrangements, with provocative lyrics. It is a sophisticated collection, boldly produced by Matt Nolen and Chuck Allen Floyd, longtime friends of Medulla. The album is an innovative collaboration by three friends who clearly share a mutual passion and trust in one another's vision. Nolen is a songwriter whose tunes have been recorded by acts including Wade Bowen, Lindi Ortega, and Ryan Beaver and a seasoned studio/road musician who traveled six years as a multi-instrumentalist in Rock n' Roll Hall of Famer, John Fogerty's band. Floyd is a longtime staple in the Texas/Oklahoma music scene with multiple hits as an artist, songwriter and producer, as well as an entertainment and intellectual property attorney with Nashville's esteemed Gordon Law Group.

"Unbroken Horses" was penned by prolific Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, Dean Dillon, who's had cuts by Toby Keith, George Jones, and many hit songs recorded by George Strait. In response to Medulla's top chart position, producer Chuck Allen Floyd took to social media to share his enthusiastic support.

"Working with Jerrod and Matt on the past two albums has been a complete labor of love. Jerrod is my son's Godfather. Matt and I have known each other and worked together since college. Having toured the Texas/Oklahoma market as an artist, and now having the opportunity to represent artists of every stripe as an attorney, I can tell you there's nothing better than working with true friends on music that matters."

Medulla released a prior album, Speak Easy, in 2012. That album included the single "Stay The Night," which reached the top 10 on the Texas Regional Radio Report and was named one of the top 100 Songs of 2016.
