It's time to celebrate Canada's sesqui...sesquicen....sequisecent...150th birthday! What better way to celebrate than with The Second City and their new show, CANADA: THE THINKING MAN'S AMERICA. A mash of improv, stand-up and something involving racoons that words can't quite describe - the show delivers the laughs.

CANADA: THE THINKING MAN'S AMERICA explores everything that makes Canada... great? Provincial stereotypes, bilingualism, our national anthem - even Murdoch Mysteries.

For theatre fans, there are at least two references that will make you roar. Without giving too much away, there's an ode to "Memory" from Cats performed by the exquisitely hilarious Nadine Djoury. In another scene, Aimee Ambroziak, a comical Kate McKinnon doppelgänger, drags her leg across the stage, as Laura from the nearly-overdone Glass Menagerie.

The entire cast is wickedly talented at comedy and improv - and this includes the musical director, creating ambience on a whim. If you're looking for an entertaining night out and maybe even a deeper understanding of what it means to be Canadian - visit The Second City.

The Second City presents CANADA: THE THINKING MAN'S AMERICA through October 17, 2017 at the Toronto MainStage Theatre, 51 Mercer Street, Toronto, ON.

STARRING Greg Cochrane, Sharjil Rasool, Allana Reoch, Aimee Ambroziak, Nadine Djoury, Josh Murray
