North Carolina Theatre presents Monty Python's Spamalot, the first show of their 2016/17 Season. Leading the quest as "King Arthur" is Jeff McCarthy (Broadway: Side Show, Chicago, Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast). James Ludwig (Broadway: Spamalot, Little Shop of Horrors) will star as "Sir Robin", and the show will also feature Ta'Rea Campbell as "The Lady of the Lake" (Broadway: Book of Mormon, Little Shop of Horrors Tour: Sister Act). BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy, MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. North Carolina Theatre, the region's premier nonprofit professional theatre, will produce the Tony Award-winning show tonight, November 15, through November 20, 2016 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.

King Arthur's trusty servant "Patsy" will be played by Brandon Haagenson (NY: My Big Gay Italian Wedding, Tour: Beauty and the Beast). Playing the gallant knights - and a broad assortment of other beloved Monty Python characters - are JacoB Smith as "Sir Galahad, the Dashingly Handsome" (Broadway: Doctor Zhivago, West End: Matilda); Danny Bernardy as "Sir Lancelot, the Homicidally Brave", reprising a role he played at Florida Studio Theatre; and Benny Elledge as "Sir Bedevere", returning to NC Theatre after previous performances in fan-favorites, Buddy - The Buddy Holly, Billy Elliot the Musical, and NERDS. Pierce Cassedy(Broadway: Kinky Boots, US Tour: The Book of Mormon) will appear as the "Historian", "Not Dead Fred" and more.

In the ensemble in roles ranging from rude Frenchmen to Laker Girls to the Knights that say "Ni!" are J.R. Bruno, Leilani Carr, Elise Dwenger, Beth Green, Carly Grissom, Kinsland Howell, Joshua Keen, Ben Lanham, Kelsey Orem, Jack Richardson, Deon Ridley, Jose Rondon, Jr and Peyton Royal.

North Carolina Theatre's creative team is led by Artistic Director, Casey Hushion and Producer, CaroLee Baxter. Jennifer Werner (Director) and Brian J. Marcum (Choreographer) return to NC Theatre for Spamalot, having previously worked together in 2014 for the theatre's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid. Joining them for Spamalot are James Cunningham (Music Director), Lisa Tireman (Costumer), Craig Stelzenmuller (Lighting Design), Eric Collins (Sound Design), Brian L. Hunt (Sound Design), Liz Printz (Hair/Wig/Makeup Design Coordinator), Aline Johnson (Properties), and Bill Yates, Jr. (Technical Director).
