NYC & Company, New York City's official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced the return of NYC Comedy Week, April 6-19. The fourth NYC Comedy Week, presented in partnership with Carolines on Broadway, is a two-week celebration highlighting New York City's famous comedy scene, with two-for-one tickets to more than 60 performances on sale beginning today. "From stand up to improv, we are thrilled to highlight the hilarious and talented comics that make New York City the capital of comedy," said Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company. "Comedy Week gives those seeking a laugh yet another reason to experience New York City's comedy scene at a fantastic value."

"When we originally conceived the idea of Comedy Week in 2011, our goal was to bring more attention to the art of comedy in New York City," said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of Carolines on Broadway and the New York Comedy Festival. "I think we've accomplished that goal over the past three years, and we're thrilled once again this year to be partnering with NYC & Company to put comedy center stage in New York. It's a wonderful opportunity for people to take advantage of a great deal to see some of the city's most talented comedians performing in some really great shows."

NYC Comedy Week highlights a variety of comedy, including stand-up, storytelling, improv, variety, sketch, hip-hop improv, musical comedy and even a live Japanese game show, at 10 venues across the City, including Brooklyn Brewery, Carolines on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, The Peoples Improv Theater, The Stand NYC, The Standing Room, UCBeast and Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

NYC Comedy Week is promoted through nycgo.com, out-of-home media in the five boroughs, digital advertising, commercials running in NYC taxicabs and social media posts using the hashtag #nyccomedyweek.

Launched in 2011, the promotion is designed to spotlight NYC's comedy scene and to encourage locals and visitors to experience some of the funniest performers in the City.
