Combining musical theatre, comedy, and other tongue-in-cheek "art forms," Cabarets by J&J and the Laurie Beechman Theatre will present MISFITS! Following on the success of other one-night hit cabarets like "Shipwrecked," and "A Swing... and a Miss!", this tongue-in-cheek show takes a hard look at the glorious art of miscast performers through hilarious stories and song.

Laurie Beechman favorite Ben Cameron (WICKED, FOOTLOOSE, Broadway Sessions) hosts the evening, directed by Nick Wilders, a collaborator on the current Off-Broadway hit POWER OVER POTUS, with music direction by Jake Turski. Our colorful cast of performers range from Kerstin Anderson (Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC National Tour) to recording artist David Alan Thornton bringing their most inappropriate song choices to the stage.

This one-night only production will play the Laurie Beechman Theatre on Sunday, September 10th at 7:00pm. Tickets available at web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/978492.

MISFITS, the latest collaboration between the Laurie Beechman Theatre and Cabarets by J&J, makes its NYC debut! MISFITS is fresh from the bustling metropolis of Berea, OH, where it was hailed as "a rollicking good time" and "surprisingly funny". Inspired by Broadway Backwards, this cabaret-style show showcases talented performers and musicians in songs that they just simply shouldn't be singing. Think Broadway's greatest diva songs sung by some of downtown's greatest divos. Or maybe three sultry tenors serving up Destiny's Child-style harmonies? How about a full gospel choir singing "Memory" on treadmills? Well, hey, we think that last bit sounds cool too, but we're kind of on a budget. MISFITS will make you groan (in all the right ways), cry, and everything in between.

Tickets are $20, with a $20 food/beverage minimum. This one-night only engagement plays the Laurie Beechman on September 10th at 7:00pm. Specialty cocktails are available, served by hunky waiters and dazzling waitresses. Whichever floats your boat, really.

The full cast includes Kerstin Anderson (SOUND OF MUSIC Nat'l Tour), Nathan Fosbinder, Sarah Kleist (HEATHERS), Ashley Lyles, Chris McNiff, Sumner Perera, MJ Rodriguez (RENT, RUNAWAYS), David Alan Thornton (LADY MONDAY), DeMone Seraphim (MISS SAIGON, RAGTIME), Eric Sciotto (SOMETHING ROTTEN, EDWIN DROOD, ROCK OF AGES), Vaios Soriano, Jacob Tischler (SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER), Cartreze Tucker (HAIR), Erica Vlahinos (PALIN, POWER OVER POTUS), and Emily Wronski.
