There is nothing quite like the holiday season in Vermont. For cookbook author and baking instructor Gesine Prado this is the perfect time of year to entertain family and friends in her Vermont farmhouse, serving up heavenly cakes, cookies, pies and savory meals. Now viewers can join in on all the delicious fun in Food Network's new series BAKED IN VERMONT, premiering Saturday, December 2nd at 12:30pm ET/PT. Through six half-hour episodes, Gesine shares tips and tricks to make baking easy, accessible and fun. Whether it is hosting a house party for friends, creating a menu of deliciously simple finger foods, or teaching students in her baking class, Gesine believes all good things begin with butter and flour!

"Gesine Prado is a self-taught baker who whips up the most delicious creations in her farmhouse kitchen," said Courtney White, Senior Vice President Programming, Scripps Networks Interactive. "The love and attention Gesine puts into everything she bakes for family and friends makes this the perfect holiday appointment you don't want to miss!"

Over the course of the six-episode series Gesine shares her love of baking and the joy it brings to family and friends. In the premiere episode Gesine is hosting a gingerbread house-making party for her friends and the menu is equally festive, with Gingerbread Cookies in cheerful shapes, Sugared Spicy Almonds, Pistachio Cinnamon Stars and the centerpiece of a Chocolate Yule Log with a Gingerbread Ax Topper that will blow your bells off. In another episode Gesine hosts her monthly get together for her knitting club. For the menu, Gesine is stitching together small appetizers and simple finger foods, including Cheese Puffs, Steak Hand Pies, and a beautiful Charlotte Royale Ice Cream Cake, along with Homemade Caramels for dessert. Of course, the holidays would not be complete without a brunch for friends in dedication of apple season, as Gesine starts off the day making cider in the barn with apples freshly harvested from her front yard, while serving up apple-inspired favorites, including Apple Cider Donuts, Latticed Apple Slab Pie, and a Sparkling Apple Cider Cocktail. As a self-taught baker, Gesine is driven to help others learn to bake; through the baking school Gesine runs out of her house to the tips and tricks she shares on Baked in Vermont, she is committed to helping others enjoy the joy of baking.
