Fulton Theatre Opens SLEUTH This Month

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre is proud to present the classic stage mystery Sleuth, October 3 through October 29. Join us and get caught up in the game that is sure to have you asking yourself where does imagination end and the reality begin?

Sleuth is a 1970 play written by Anthony Shaffer where it first opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre in Manhattan on November 12th. Directed by Clifford Williams, the Broadway production received nominations for Best Lighting Design and for Best Direction of a Play, while receiving the Tony Award and Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for Best Play. Starring Anthony Quayle and Keith Baxter in the original cast received the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Performance. Sleuth ran for a total of 1,222 performances, where in 1972 Shaffer adapted his play for film. Since then the classic has been revived on screen in 2007 and 2014.

A Tony Award-winning mystery thriller. Andrew Wyke, acclaimed detective story writer, invites his wife's lover and adversary to his English home for the deal of a lifetime. A plot which involves a jewelry heist, insurance fraud and the ultimate revenge turns into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game. This stirring whodunit, often referred to as one of the greatest stage thrillers, will keep you guessing until the end!

The Fulton Theatre's production stars Warren Kelley as Andrew Wyke. Fulton audiences have seen Warren as Arthur Kipps in The Woman in Black and Charlie in The Foreigner. Last Spring Warren was at Walnut St. Theatre playing Truman Capote in The Gift. This coming winter he will go to Riverside Theatre in Florida to play The Chairman in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Other credits include: To Kill a Mockingbird as Atticus, Spamalot as King Arthur, The Merry Wives of Windsor as Master Fold, Art as Yvan, Oliver! as Fagin, Inherit the Wind as Brady, and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike as Vanya.

Also starring is Michael Zlabinger as Milo Tindle. Off-Broadway: Like Money In The Bank (Theatre Row), The Subtle Body (59E59), Desperate Writers (Union Square Theatre). International: European premiere of The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? (Vienna's English Theatre, dir. Pam MacKinnon). Regional: Orin in Little Shop of Horrors (Dante Hall Theater); world premiere of Lee Blessing's A View of the Mountains (NJ Rep); Other Desert Cities (Pioneer); The Columnist (Florida Studio); Ah, Wilderness! (Baltimore Centerstage); Hamlet (Shakespeare Theatre); Iago in Othello (NCSF); Splitting Infinity (Geva); Torvald in A Doll's House (NC Stage); Hamlet (Long Wharf).

Rounding out the cast in alphabetical order are; Jack Edwards (Police Constable Higgs), Jerry Marr (Detective Sergeant Tarrant), Albert Reid (Inspector Doppler).

The creative team for the production includes Andrew Kindig (Director), WilLiam James Mohney (Scenic Designer), Josh Schlader (Lighting Designer), Anthony Lascoskie, Jr. (Costume Designer), Matthew Moran (Sound Designer), Katelin Walsko (Props Designer), Rebekah Church (Production Stage Manager), and Chris Loreto (Production Assistant).
