Annie Sertich to Premiere New Show at The Groundlings Theatre

Based on a true story, this one-act play written by and starring Groundlings' Annie Sertich puts a twist on the familiar one-woman show format. Not a typical show you'd find at The Groundlings, this exciting and different play about love and loss will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions asking yourself, 'Did this really happen?' and the answer is yes. As in usual Groundlings fashion, the show will definitely provide a lot of laughs. This show has been seen by sold out audiences during previous runs in Los Angeles and New York.

Directed by Michaela Watkins (Casual, Saturday Night Live, New Girl), Annie Sertich is currently playing CJ Cantwell on HBO's Silicon Valley and Jules in the digital film Dirty 30(Lionsgate). She was a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for two years. Some of her other credits include:Shameless, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Benched, and The Office. Her writing credits include projects for MTV, Disney and Nickelodeon. As a member of the Groundlings Main Company she has performed, taught and directed for over 10 years.

The Groundlings Theatre is an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre that has been entertaining LA audiences for 42 years. They are a non-profit organization founded by Gary Austin in 1974. A "Groundling" is one of the 30 company members who write and perform in the theatre's shows and teach classes at the Groundling's School. The school has been the foremost comedy training ground in Hollywood and the springboard for countless careers including comic geniuses from film and television such as Jennifer Coolidge, Will Ferrell, Ana Gasteyer, Kathy Griffin, Cheryl Hines, Chris Kattan, Lisa Kudrow, Phil LaMarr, Jon Lovitz, Karen Maruyama, Melissa McCarthy, Michael McDonald, Paul Reubens, Maya Rudolph, Mindy Sterling and Kristen Wiig, among others. In addition to being comedy performers, Groundlings members and alumni hold writing positions on many of Hollywood's top television and film projects.
