Anthony Kearns, founding member of The Irish Tenors, recently released his long- awaited debut solo album. The CD focuses upon the wide repertoire presented during his countless solo concert tours; a concert repertoire which spans the spectrum from Ireland to Broadway, from well-loved melodies to popular classics, and from light-hearted comedy to the greatest tenor arias ever written, interpreted by the man acclaimed as Ireland's Finest Tenor. The CD is, according to Kearns, "a compilation of songs that have been my constant companions ... I hope you enjoy what you hear ... and find a song that touches your heart."

It is available via his website: www.anthonykearnstenor.com.

Kearns began his career in 1993 after winning a national competition in Dublin, Ireland's Search for a Tenor, launching him on the road leading to The Irish Tenors, who burst upon the international music scene in 1998. The Irish Tenors hold the distinction of being one of the top grossing acts of all time for PBS, have five PBS specials and ten CDs to their credit, many achieving gold, platinum and double platinum status.

In addition to his continuing work with The Irish Tenors, Anthony has a thriving solo concert career and is increasingly in demand on international opera stages performing some of opera's premium tenor roles. Of Kearns's performance as Don Ottavio in Lismore Opera's Don Giovanni [Ireland], the British magazine Opera Now reported, "Kearns' beautifully spun Il mio tesoro was a moment of still beauty..." The Irish Times commented on Anthony's performance of Faust for Opera Ireland "Kearns has an exciting top register..." Steffanie Pearce, Opera Naples Founder and Artistic Director noted, "Anthony's high notes are thrilling and virile...this is a voice-of-the-century voice!" He performed Lucia di Lammermore's Edgardo, Romeo, and Faust for Opera Naples. Of his Don Jose? in an Irish production of Carmen, The Irish Times, commented: "Kearns proved a top-notch Don Jose?, rising to each decisive moment with quality to spare."

A frequent performer in the nation's most prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, Mr. Kearns has performed for Irish Prime Ministers, three U.S. Presidents, and is a member of the Recording Academy: The Grammys.
