Damon And Naomi are musical magicians, conjuring a very unique universe of song. Over the course of 8 albums they have etched out a very special vision of dream-inducing pop music, and finally they will make their way to Australia this April.
Equally informed by pop and folk traditions, the duo draw their roots from the legendary group, Galaxie 500. Following G-500's demise, the then rhythm section of Damon and Naomi, began issuing a series of records that have come to define the recently emergent generation of dream-pop bands.
Their most recent album, False Beats and True Hearts, is a stellar example of what Damon and Naomi do best - gently psychedelic songs, littered in shimmering melodies and paced harmony. It's rare to find music that reaches deep into the inner recesses of ourselves, but this pair of New York natives offer us a doorway into a place we don't visit often enough.
They will be joined by local Brisbane act, Primitive Motion, a band well known for their San Francisco post-punk aesthetic of the very early 1980s.
