Due to Sarah Brightman’s highly anticipated 11th studio album “Dreamchaser” now being released in North America this April to coincide with the timing of her international album release plan, her North American tour dates will move to the fall of 2013. The rescheduled date for the Amway Center is Tuesday, October 8, 2013 (original concert date Tuesday, February 26, 2013).
“I am incredibly excited to be sharing this new music and to be able to give a taste of what is to come on the album in January,” said Brightman. “Angel is a track that is very dear to me, as it lends voice to some of the hopes I have for the next stage of my career whilst casting an eye right back to my childhood. There are some incredible plans afoot and the scale of this song matches the scope of my ambitions for the next two or three years.”
Over the past two and a half decades, Sarah Brightman has distinguished herself as the world’s biggest selling soprano of all time with global sales exceeding 30 million units. She has received more than 180 gold and platinum awards in over 40 countries. Brightman pioneered the classical crossover music movement and is the only artist to have simultaneously topped the Billboard dance and classical music charts.
She was also the first artist to have been invited to perform the official theme songs at the Olympic Games on two occasions. The first was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, which was followed 16 years later by a performance at the opening ceremony in Beijing.
Brightman recently accepted the UNESCO nomination to be an “Artist for Peace” Ambassador for her “commitment to humanitarian and charitable causes.” She has appeared in several films, including Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008), directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, and Stephen Evans' First Night (2011).
