August Osage County closing June 28 |
Oh wow. Too bad
I thought they'd for sure close it on Rashad's last day. Well, I'll be there this Friday for one last visit.

WOW! Much sooner than expected. Damn, I wanted to see Rashad!

This is terrible news. I was looking forward to see it! Especially to see Phylicia Rash?d. This really sucks.

Bettyboy, I was thinking the same thing (about it lasting longer). I won't be up in NYC again until the 4th of July holiday.

Week after week poor grosses doesnt make this a surprise. It had a very healthy, highly popular and mediacized life. Not to mention the London run, planned Natl Tour and the boost it gave to Steppenwolf.
Too bad. Rashad was really magnificent in this role, and deserved a longer run.
My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."
Oprah could save this.

It's been a great run. May it set out on a great note.

At least it had a good run. I look forward to seeing the tour.
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim
Noooo.
It had a great run, but I'm still extremely sad to see it go. Maybe I can catch it one more time.

Crap! I was planning on going to NY in July just to catch Rashad in this, I wish they had kept the show running through the end of the month but I can see how that wouldn't have been economically feasible
I am hoping the tour comes to FL, so far I don't think they have scheduled dates.

As many have said, it had a GREAT run.

For a show originally meant to be open for only a few months, it really had a great run. Glad that I was able to see it a few weeks after it opened. Absolutely electrifying.

Just brought tickets to see the final performance with my friend. So excited I get to see it before it closes.

Well, Damn. The past couple weeks they were heavily discounting.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
Just called Telecharge for get a refund...no one has told them it's closing. The one lady even said she sold some tickets for july something to a couple earlier today.

Everyone going to the last show is incredibly lucky. If I didn't have to start teaching on Jun 29th, I'd fly to NY that weekend and see the wonder that Amy Morton is play the role for one last time. I'm sure Rashad, Murphy, Mayberry, Ashley, and the rest of them will be wonderful as well.
