What's going into all of the other theaters? I know RACE is taking the Barrymore but I didn't hear anything about the Lyceum or Belasco.
Anyway, it's sad to see three pretty excellent shows (JOE TURNER, EXIT, and REASONS, of course) and one pretty lifeless revival of an excellent show go, but hopefully even better shows arriving next year will take their places. 
I'm particularly sad to see REASONS go, which should have won the Tony for Best Play.

the Nederlander is booked? already? does that mean shuttering "guys and dolls" was planned long before tony night? i still thought that show would run through the summer- its grosses were not all that bad.

Exit the King has Rush and Sarandon in it, which could spell viewers if it were to air on public television at some point. If this production was not filmed then honestly, why film anything?

Of the 4, I believe REASONS TO BE PRETTY was the only one to be filmed for Lincoln Center.
It is ridiculous that productions like EXIT THE KING aren't filmed for everyone to see. That's why people take it upon themselves to do it, since the shows won't. And thank God for that.

How asinine...I'm sorry,but people 'taking it upon themselves' to film productions is 1) illegal, 2) horribly distracting to the actors and other audience members and perhaps above and beyond all completely defeats the point of doing theatre in the first place. If you want to see a show...go see the show. If you live out of town and can't see it...hopefully it gets filmed for Lincoln Center, if not, tough.
I'm not against the idea of filming theatre, mind you, I was a big fan of Spike Lee filming PASSING STRANGE; because he did it PROFESSIONALLY (which hopefully keeps the artistic integrity of the show intact) and the actors and crew were fairly COMPENSATED for the work that thousands would see without buying a ticket. Some jackass with an iPhone isn't going to provide any kind of decent version of a show like EXIT THE KING or REASONS TO BE PRETTY and in fact, in all probability will distract the actors and his fellow audience members from the experience that they paid to have.
I like the idea of more shows being filmed for PBS or the like, but suggesting that its okay for people to do it on their own? Just shockingly tacky. Sorry.
