Today is the big day! I know many people are thinking it is way to early but we can start this thread by talking about possible drinking games, areas to watch. Tell us who you think will upset. This will be the thread for everything Tony when the time comes.

So me and my friends always play a drinking game and last year we added a new one. We took a shot everytime someone metioned/thanks Stephen Sondheim because it seemed like everyone was. Also because last year was father's day we added drinking any time someone thanked their father (which didn't happen often). We have lost a reasons on our sheet so we were completely wasted by the end. Then the next day while nursing our hang overs we watch it again!

I can't wait! It hasn't really hit me yet that it is actually Tony day, however

I don't know if the Tony awards broadcast being shown in Times Square will have sound or not. I do remember that thee were a few times that I would walk around Times Square and they would be showing a Mets game or Yankees game on 1 Times Square and that had subtitles and no sound.

Now, I don't know if they are treating this as a special event and bringing out speakers for sound, or if it something that they are going to have on in the background so to speak.

I feel like a HUGE dork. I have been glued to the computer all day and am still in my pajamas. I have to keep up on the boards and on Twitter. Is anyone else following BroadwayPulse, TheTonyAwards, or RockofAges? This is exhausting!!! I can hardly wait until tonight! Here's hoping to an interesting night!

I actually like the ideas for this drinking game. Will have to attempt it, but I think I'll try the shot every time Billy wins. And two every time Next to Normal wins. And I'll climb inside the bottle if Rock of Ages wins anything. And I'm also a momentum guy, so if anything starts winning in a row, that's even more drinking.

Oh and in honor of tonight's host, and my status-changing number as of this, I hereby deem this post
Legen...wait for it...and I hope you're not lactose-intolerant 'cause the second half of that word is...DAIRY!

This makes me happy now.

Edited to add: And now I'm sad. Why don't I see anything under my name, like Broadway Legend? ...lame. Updated On: 6/7/09 at 01:16 PM

Just wondering- On the Tony's twitter they are going through everything that happens at the dress rehersal...some of them say like "....is presenting the award for blahblah" Does this mean the nominees know who won before the actual broadcast?

Let's see if we can hit 4 pages before the damn show even starts.....why are people so obsessed with being first to post.

I am so excited for the Tonys tonight! It may not make as much as a difference on me than on others, since I haven't really seen any of the broadway shows nominated (though I've heard some of the stuff from the musicals/musical actors and actresses nominated. I like watching them because it gives me the feel of what Broadway is like and what it is all about... sort of. Ugh, I am rambling again, lets just say I'm excited and leave it at that.

I am expecting "BE" to win for Best Musical, but pulling for "N2N"- would not be upset with either -- I am just going to have a really hard time if "BE" wins for Best Score.
