NEW YORK (Reuters) - Grammy Award winning singer and actress Beyonce Knowles has a plan to settle down in a couple of years and have some children with her husband, hip hop mogul Jay-Z, do less touring and -- debut on Broadway.
"It's my ideal job," Knowles told Reuters, while promoting her latest film role in "Obsessed," in which she plays a wife who takes on her husband's stalker.
"I'll be able to go to the theater every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food -- maybe I'll know how to cook by then -- and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule."
I would love to have her on Broadway, she is one the only pop artists who I truly respect. She is terrific talent and I would rush to the theater to see her.
Out of curiosity, ZONEACE, have you seen her live in concert? She sings live. And well.
Now Britney Spears, on the other hand... I'm still wondering how she was going to sing SWEET CHARITY 8 times a week, even if the role isn't vocally challenging. But I digress.

I'd love to see her on Broadway as well. She was great in Dreamgirls. However, she seems to think that Broadway is an easy schedule based on that interview and she is in for a rude awakening. Updated On: 4/23/09 at 09:58 PM
It'd definitely would have to be the right role, she's not one of those performers who can make anything work, but then again, few are. Having said that, she does have immense star power, has acting experience and unlike most film to stage actresses she actually has experience performing live and commanding the stage. I'd definitely see her. She'd have been a fun Charity Hope Valentine actually. I'd also like to see her in a play she would never do, MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Remember that along with those tour dates she also has to deal with a hectic life. She has to travel, sometimes around the world, and deal with her celebrity life. Then she goes to talk shows and press following her. She doesn't have an easy life now, she has to be extremely exhausted all the time. Give her credit for her difficult life, she can do Broadway.
and ever since all the nonsense surrounding her not getting nominated for major awards for Dreamgirls, I'm done with her and her entourage.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
I can't think of one role that I could see her do.
Her speaking voice is so flat and lacks intonation. Maybe she can sing, I've heard her once or twice when she sounded decent, but that was TV or Movie, so who knows what she really sounds like, Tour sound is also very different than Broadway. Maybe she could try out HOUSE OF FLOWERS in Pittsburgh? WHEN PIGS FLY.
Also, has anyone told her how much it pays?
