WEST SIDE STORY Partial View/ SRO?

Can anyone shed some light on the box office at The Palace's policies for selling partial view balcony seats and SRO for WEST SIDE STORY?

I have heard varying things from multiple people. Some say the partial view seats are available all the time, some say it's only when the show is sold out, some say the SRO spots only go on sale a certain time before curtain, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When I tried it on March 29, they had to sell all of the partial seats in the mezz and balcony before selling standing room.

I do not know if that is still the case.

I'm pretty sure the mezz was $46.50. Definitely about that. And the balcony definitely $24.00.

Bumping this thread because I have heard they now sell partial view in the orchestra for $60. Can anyone confirm this and tell where the seats are (I am assuming the extreme sides?)

I saw the first preview from the mezzanine back in February, and I must say that the "partial view" seats in the last row of the mezzanine are a great deal. I paid $90 to sit in the second to last row of the mezz, and the people one row behind me paid $45. The difference? The very top of the proscenium arch was cut off for them - no impact on the show's action whatsoever (I had a friend sit back there and he confirmed that he saw everything but the very top of some of the sets). Definitely go for those!

They also have mezzanine SRO for $36.50.

So what is the deal with this? Do they sell the partial view seats for every performance no matter what or something? Do they sell them when the BO opens or after the lotto?

They usually have them after lotto unless the show is completely sold out.

I've never tried the orchestra, but the balcony partial view is actually really good.

They usually sell them after the lottery. After I lost on Sunday, I just went into the box office and they didn't say anything about balcony partial view, they just gave me a balcony standing room ticket for $26.50.

They also asked me how tall I was, which was kinda weird.

I bought a balcony standing room ticket and, as one of only three SRO ticket holders, ended up standing in the mezz thanks to a kind usher.

Warning about the mezz SRO, if you're short (I'm 5' 2"), you can hardly see a thing. I ended up standing at the top of the center aisle and it was actually one of the better views I've ever had in a theatre.

Unfortunately, the good experience was rather ruined by a very old usher lady who paced back and forth the entire show, shuffling her feet. She also didn't know how to whisper.

I was surrounded by a field trip of kids were playing on their cell phones the whole time. They were also laughing during the rape scene and were making fun of the ending when Maria is screaming and crying.
