And no other news came with that annoucement. Sadly, I wouldn't be suprised if its over and done with. I suspect that once a show "postpones" without dates telling how long....that it's actually dead in the water.
We can hope.

Not over and done yet. Work is still happening on bringing it to Broadway but honestly it may be in the autumn and not in the spring before it surfaces.
"For me, THEATRE is an anticipation, an artistic rush, an emotional banquet, a jubilant appreciation, and an exit hopeful of clearer thought and better worlds."
~ an anonymous traveler with Robert Burns
I think it's probably better that it waits it out. There's a lot of "big" musicals this season, so I think it might work out better for it if it waits. Also, I think, it would fair better if it opened right before Tony deadlines, but maybe that's just me.
I'm very excited to see this, but I'm sure it'd be better to open either this fall or next spring. They will still have competition but when it comes to Tonys, they won't have to compete with the 3 ladies from 9 to 5.
I honestly don't know if a three person chamber musical will sell well these days. With bigger musicals like Billy Elliot and 9 to 5 coming along I am dubious that it would do well. I mean, look at The Story Of My Life, there are people out there saying that it wouldn't do well just because it is a two person musical. I guess that time will tell.

Whoa! Unsolicited insults! Now we've got the ball rolling!
Okay, winston, now you call Dolly out on it, and then Dolly can call you "dear" and make a condescending remark that would have been welcome in the Hamptons in 1954.
PiraquaGuy, you weren't implying that I would say to winston something like, "How sad to learn that when you were born they threw away the baby and kept the bathwater," were you? I can come up with more effective bon mots.
Aaaaaaaaand bringing it back to the "Vanities" topic... I have not heard much either. I'm thinkin' it'd be wiser for them to wait for next year. I just hope that it is able to make its Broadway debut!

I think it's stupid to say what will sell and what won't sell. Honestly, nothing is a sure bet. This time last year I would have thought "Shrek" would have been a huge hit, but it's not doing that great.
Yes...the announcement that it was POSTPONED came several months ago...not just in the last few days or weeks....so not really news.
She wouldn't be automatically tied to anymore....if indeed there is any shred of hope that it is (eventually) coming.
As said by others: IF it's going to happen next fall would be the earliest I'd see it happening. Godspell was "postponed", Brigadoon was "postponed", Nice Work If You Can Get It was "postponed".
