Anyone seeing the first Preview tonight of WICKED in SF? |
New to the Bay Area and curious about the theatre community out here. Any chance you can provide some insight?
Well...we get some good shows, but we also get a lot of announcements for shows that never make it to the stage, year after year this happens.

Interesting that Teal Wicks (Elphaba) did not go on tonight, Vicki Noon did instead. And I'm happy they added the lift for Elphaba to rise out of during NGD instead of her just running onto the stage like she did during the tour.

Thanks for the fast update :)
I saw a shoe from the L.A. Engagement and I am curious to see this production to compare them both.

I'll let you in on a secret: it's exactly the same as the LA Production because... it is the LA Production.
Yes, all shoes were transferred to the San Francisco production.

Maybe she couldn't find one of her shoes!

A friend of mine works with the production and he told me that Teal might go on, but she was sick all last week and miss rehearsals to get better...he told me after the show, that she is still sick...so that is why she did not go on!
"In the U.S.A.
You can have your say,
You can set you goals
And seize the day,
You've been given the freedom
To work your way
To the head of the line-
To the head of the line!"
---Stephen Sondheim
During her final LA show she left after the "train station" scene and Angel Reda came on at "One Short Day".

I went last night and it was great! There were some minor sound problems. It seemed like the mics were too low. I really enjoyed the additional lighting effects and projections. And the new choreography was amazing. The highlight of the evening for me was meeting Wayne Cilento and Stephen Schwartz who were sitting directly in front of me. What a night!
Pillowpants. 'Nuff said.
