Just got this scoop in from "Rock of Ages" HQ in Joey Primo's new tour bus...
Constantine Maroulis will be on FOX BUSINESS CHANNEL?s "Strategy Room" TODAY, Friday, March 27th from 5 ? 6PM. It is a live, national program and will be hosted by Robert Galinsky (owner of REALITY TV SCHOOL) and the show will be about reality TV. Constantine will also be able to talk about "Rock of Ages".
Also, "Rock of Ages" will be featured in WABC-TV?s (CHANNEL 7 in NYC) Spring Theatre Preview, hosted by David Hyde Pierce, on Saturday, March 28th at 7:30PM. It is also being heavily promoted on TV and in taxis (great news for all of you coming to NY to visit and catch a performance of ROA)!!!!
It was a blast...the tapings were done outside the theater in front of the ROA posters at both intermission and after the show let out. Lots of people willing to give their two cents and sing bits of their favorite ROA songs, including a great group singalong of Don't Stop Believin'!
As soon as the video's released, I'll let everyone know!
(For the record, I sang a bit of my favorite vocal number in the show, "High Enough")
High Enough has been my favorite vocal number since previews off-Broadway and it is just blossoming into SUCH a showstopper...Amy and Constantine just knock it out of the park. Extra kudos to Ethan Popp for taking the arrangement "to the next level"
My heart is still with "Here I Go Again" for favorite production number, though. :)
I saw the show last night for the first time on Broadway (had seen it once off bway), and loved it even more. It was so much FUN! When I walked out my face was hurting from the smiling and the singing. It was AWESOME. Also my friend and I played lotto and we both won (most everyone did) We got seats in Row D of the left orc. Which were pretty partial view seats. Any word on if they'll switch lotto to front row full view? b/c it seems kind of weird to have a lotto for partial view seats. I mean I can see a rush for Parital view seats but a lotto? It seems like the right side would of been worse (view wise). But the show was AWESOME! I loved every minute of it. My friend and I. I'm 17 and my friend is 16 knew mostly every song, It was great. Any chance they'll release tickets for opening night Lizzy?
Rent
The best show on Broadway. I was at the closing. BEST night of my Life.

"No Day But Today"
One month after their classic songs debut as part of the score of the new hit musical comedy, ROCK OF AGES, two unparalleled rock stars - Tommy Shaw from STYX and Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon - will make their Broadway debuts as they perform their new single, "Can't Stop Rockin'", immediately following the evening performance on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 W. 47th Street). The performance of the new song, co-written by Cronin and Shaw, celebrates the rockers recently announced CAN'T STOP ROCKIN' 2009 Tour, which kicks off on May 12th, presented by VH1 Classic and Rock Band®.
Tickets for the musical and the STYX/ REO Speedwagon live performance of "Can't Stop Rockin'" (at no extra charge) on April 27, 2009, can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com/ 212-307-4100 or in person at The Brooks Atkinson Box Office (256 W. 47th Street).
I understand this is a "love thread" But I saw ROA last night and find VERY little if anything to love about this show. The actors and their performances were fine,I suppose, but holy crap, that book!! WTF?? I was literally looking around for the exit during the 1st act. My friend had to talk me into staying through the 2nd act, which we both regretted by the end. Just horrible. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but wow, what a crap-tastic show.
So...there is a show out there that some people love and others hate??? NO WAY!! I refuse to believe it! Rock of Ages must be setting some sort of precedent by causing such divided opinions. Unthinkable!

ActingismyLIFE, you clearly acknowledge that this is a Love thread. So why then would you bother posting such negativity in it? There are several highly entertaining anti-ROA threads where you can join your fellow "haters" in bashing what the people in THIS thread have found joy and entertainment in.
Oh, and TimesSquare2? Sorry that you don't like me. Can't win 'em all. But this is a Love thread for a SHOW, not a personal attack thread. If you want to be immature about this (and that includes your *clever* change of the thread name), please take this to PMs.
And to everyone else here, thanks for being supportive and ROCK ON!
>>Any chance they'll release tickets for opening night Lizzy? There are several sites that claim they have tickets to sell for opening night. I know someone who has purchased them. ROA says there will not be any sold to the public.
I saw the show again last night. I think it may be hard to get tickets to this show soon.
Hey, just wanted to say I finally saw this show on Wednesday (after having missed it Off Broadway), and I had a really great time. No, the show's not a great piece of art (nor should it be held to those standards), it's not perfect, but it's a LOT of fun, and sometimes that's more than enough. This is the music I grew up with, and I thought the show did a great job at recreating, honoring and mocking the spirit of the era. The cast was fantastic, the energy in the audience was vibrant, and it was an altogether wonderful experience. I hope the show's a hit, because I think this sort of nostalgic escapism is needed, especially in the current economic climate. So, yeah, I'm spreading the love :)
Constantine and one of the show's producers was on Fox Business today talking about what is needed for investors to recoup. The producer said with around 85% attendance, the show will recoup in a year and after that, will make investors 67% of their original investment. Wow! You have to have a strong stomach to invest in a show but what a return if it's successful.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
