It seems that Sirius/XM is less than truthful in their advertising. They SAY that the Live on Broadway show is broadcast live from the Broadway Concierge every Wednesday at noon.
Well, it's not. Broadcast live, that is. Raúl Esparza was Seth's guest today, but instead of that live broadcast, we got a repeat of a show Seth did previously called "All About Annie".
It's kind of frustrating that they say one thing but deliver another. I have to assume that EVENTUALLY Raúl's show will get aired, but I can't find anything on Sirius' website to indicate when that might happen.
Did anybody go to the actual show today? Can anyone report on what was talked about/sung?
I went to the show today, but missed the first 15 minutes or so because I was literally running to get there on my lunchbreak. I am one of the many die-hard Raul fans, so I thought it was absolutely amazing. I'm not sure what I missed at the beginning but Raul was chatting about Sondheim and Seth asked about Sondheim's elusiveness. Raul sorta brushed the question off by making a very funny and long joke where he imitated Sondheim as this bizarre "dont look at me in the eyes" type of personality throughout the production of Company. Seth jokingly said to Raul not to "upstage the host" as the small audience was loving Raul's impersonation. On to the performances- "Being Alive"... this was the obvious choice for Raul to sing, but still I was soooo excited when it began. It sounded amazing as Raul belted it out while standing over Seth (who was on piano). I thought it was funny that Raul needed to check the music a few times. It sounded amazing, though, and had all the neck-vein-popping 'umph' to it. Damn, he is good. Up next a little Broadway trivia game of Raul vs. a few audience members. Raul knew all the answers, but the participants still got prizes anyway. Then, the final song was the long-ish "Soliloquy" from Carousel. Raul said he once sang it with the philharmonic so thats why he knew it/had the music. Really great song, very passionate. Raul's voice was really full, and the song was nice and dynamic. It sounded great with just the piano, but I would love to see a video clip of the philharmonic performance! And, after that, the show closed out. Raul said it was the most fun he's had during an interview, which seemed believable since him and Seth were really laughing it up. Anyone that stuck around was able to get photos and autographs, too. So glad I went!
What a blast! Raul sounded fantastic and it was great to see him interviewed by Seth - they played off each other well. As always, he was incredibly nice afterwards during the signing.
HE SANG "SOLILOQUY" AGAIN?????? Be still my heart! As far as I know there is no video of that Phil concert (that took place last May) but there is audio. See your PMs.
I know this will SHOCK and OUTRAGE many of you, but not only ISN'T "Live on Broadway" LIVE, it's not even on BROADWAY! NO! The visitor center is actually on 7th AVENUE!
Why did I not know about this? I was over there yesterday.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Scheduling update: it looks like Raúl's show will be broadcast on Sirius/XM radio on Friday, December 26th, at 7PM (et), with repeats Sunday the 28th at 11PM, Tuesday the 30th at 7AM and Wednesday the 31st at noon.
Here's the schedule, sort of, from Sirius' website. It's for the current offering, that starts airing tomorrow. It was recorded on Dec. 10, which is why I'm extrapolating that Raúl's show, which was recorded on the 17th, will be on starting next week. Look under "Upcoming Highlights":
Thank you for your videos, Holly. Watching "Being Alive" makes me really want Company back, but I appreciate you posting them. I wish I could have gone to see him sing, but I couldn't get out of my office for that long.
No problem. Being Alive was so amazing live. Company is one of my all time favorites, if not my favorite. I literally had chills when he was singing!
I'd like to go to Seth's radio show each wednesday during my lunchbreak. I checked the links Humbug provided with the show schedule, but I could only see past December guests. Does anyone know where to find upcoming guests?
