For a document devoted to a composer who produces such complex works, the writing often strikes me as terribly simple and amateurish and sometimes just downright bad. It reads like the essays of a college freshman whose high school teacher drilled over and over, "Remember, you must have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion." Does anyone else find themselves surprised at the poor quality of the writing?
"Do you know ChrisLovesShows?" "Yes. Why, yes he does!"
I used to subscribe but stopped when they got to the point where they were interviewing people who were far down the line in the creative process. Who cares what the dresser (or whatever's) experience was while working on a show? Another problem was that with a limited amount of shows to talk about it seemed to rehash the same shows over and over. Not worth the cost.
Yep, it is kind of a joke. And a tired one at that. I'll glance through it to see if anything catches my intrest, but usually nothing much does. And I love SS.
