I'm having one of those moments where I can't stop listening to one song on repeat because it is too amazing.
It's the opening song from 'Songs For A New World'...
The music is beautiful and perfectly upbeat. And the singing! Flawless! Delicious. (and Andrea Burns can do no wrong!)

What song currently wants to make you explode because of its amazingness? And most importantly, WHY?

"As we all should probably have learned by now, to be a Stephen Sondheim fan is to have one's heart broken at regular intervals" - Frank Rich

"I think it's appropriate: iSondheim - a Sondheim for the new generation! (wailing guitar riff) Get your kids hooked early on Sondheim, so they'll grow up to be just as emotionally stilted and self-conscious as we are! - BustopherPhantom

You're talking about something and not providing some sort of link to it.

I've had the Overture from The Light in the Piazza on repeat for quite some time now. I'm obsessed with the music from the whole show.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Ahh, thanks blaxx.
Dear "snotty, asshole-ish" link wanters...
I wasn't posting this an an intention to be all 'hey listen to this song!' I was merely hoping to start a discussion/love fest of current song obsessions and why we love the songs we have on repeat over and over. I was assuming (silly me!) that posters here would have a broad knowledge and already know the song I was talking about. And if not, bring a new song into the discussion.
And for the record, I am not a he.

I can't stop listening to Walk Like a Woman from the demo of Wildhorn's Carmen. I just want to jump up and dance every time I hear it.

"I Will Never Leave You" from Side Show. I've just discovered this song - and I can't stop listening to it. I've watched the Tony Awards performance of this and *sigh* ... so awesome.

As much as I'm a fan and avid supporter of LaChiusa's Wild Party, I constantly find myself singing Juggernaut and Life of the Party. God they're both so insanely awesome, I'm almost ashamed to admit it.

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

I taped Audra McDonald Live at Lincoln Center on PBS and then copied the songs to CD. I am currently listening to "My Stupid Mouth", "Cradle and All" and "I won't Mind" constantly on my stereo and on my Zune.

I can't believe somebody said mine! "Octet" from Light in the Piazza for months now. And no one ever seems to talk about it, so I feared I was alone. but luckily I was mistaken! It is soo beautiful.
