I'm having one of those moments where I can't stop listening to one song on repeat because it is too amazing. It's the opening song from 'Songs For A New World'... The music is beautiful and perfectly upbeat. And the singing! Flawless! Delicious. (and Andrea Burns can do no wrong!)
What song currently wants to make you explode because of its amazingness? And most importantly, WHY?
"As we all should probably have learned by now, to be a Stephen Sondheim fan is to have one's heart broken at regular intervals" - Frank Rich
"I think it's appropriate: iSondheim - a Sondheim for the new generation!

"A New World" is amazing. I'm currently in love with "It Won't Be Long Now" from IN THE HEIGHTS... I just discovered it, and it's just beautiful! Do a lot of you guys love it? Updated On: 11/23/08 at 09:12 PM

I've had the Overture from The Light in the Piazza on repeat for quite some time now. I'm obsessed with the music from the whole show.
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim
Ahh, thanks blaxx. Dear "snotty, asshole-ish" link wanters... I wasn't posting this an an intention to be all 'hey listen to this song!' I was merely hoping to start a discussion/love fest of current song obsessions and why we love the songs we have on repeat over and over. I was assuming (silly me!) that posters here would have a broad knowledge and already know the song I was talking about. And if not, bring a new song into the discussion. And for the record, I am not a he.

"I Will Never Leave You" from Side Show. I've just discovered this song - and I can't stop listening to it. I've watched the Tony Awards performance of this and *sigh* ... so awesome.
As much as I'm a fan and avid supporter of LaChiusa's Wild Party, I constantly find myself singing Juggernaut and Life of the Party. God they're both so insanely awesome, I'm almost ashamed to admit it.
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott
Feel the Rain Fall - Parade One + One = Three - Side Show (I know weird choice from this show) Barrett's Song - Titainc Everybody Says Dont - Anyone Can Whistle

'96,000' from IN THE HEIGHTS. I'm feeling sad a lot at the moment and ITH really cheers me up. :3 'Clara's Interlude' from THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. Quality, not quantity. XD 'The Ballad of Booth' from ASSASSINS. I just can't get enough of it. :3
I taped Audra McDonald Live at Lincoln Center on PBS and then copied the songs to CD. I am currently listening to "My Stupid Mouth", "Cradle and All" and "I won't Mind" constantly on my stereo and on my Zune.
96,000 from ITH is also one of my feel good songs.
Right now anything from Story of My Life and Next to Normal... *sigh*

I can't believe somebody said mine! "Octet" from Light in the Piazza for months now. And no one ever seems to talk about it, so I feared I was alone. but luckily I was mistaken! It is soo beautiful.
