Anyone on the inside know who is performing what during the telecasts of the Macy's parade on NBC and also CBS' parade?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

New musicals to publicize for the families: BILLY ELLIOT, SHREK, 13, LITTLE MERMAID
Hit musicals that may bank on publicity points: WICKED (5th anniv), MAMMA MIA! (movie was a summer smash at box office).
You know, the DVD is coming out around Thanksgiving I think. Perhaps they will get some of the movie cast to appear for a number on a float, such as HAIRSPRAY's number from last year with Nikki Blonsky.

I don't know about the shows but I do know that Kristin Chenoweth will be performing "Christmas Waltz" from her new CD in the Macy's parade. I don't know if she'll be on a float or just performing the song once though.

Nikki Blonksy is, essentially, a "nobody". The Mamma Mia cast was full of "somebodies". I cannot imagine Firth, Streep, Brosnon, et al on a float. At the most I'd think they might get the people who played Sophie and Sky.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
You can listen to some clips at amazon.com and she sounds great. I definitely plan on buying it.

Forgot about White Christmas. That's a definite, for sure.

I downloaded Kristin Chenoweth's "A Lovely Way To Spend Christmas" from iTunes. It's definitely a beautiful holiday album to have. With the exception of "Christmas Island", it's almost like being in a Christmas TV celebration in the rockies. "Christmas Waltz" is one of the top songs from the repertoire. The album and insert design were wonderfully conceived as well.

I just saw a note on ATC saying that White Christmas was the ONLY show performing at Macy's parade. I checked the Macy's Parade web site and even WC isn't listed. I can't believe they would leave all the Broadway shows out of the parade. That would be aweful - at least for us!
