drama, it think the economy has a lot to do with it. I am no expert but the show has recouped and from looking back has been running without selling out every night. My understanding is that it is not an expensive show to run. I am willing to bet that advance sales are not good and they decided to "quit while they are ahead" so to speak. Advance sales are not good for a lot of other shows from what I am reading. And it will be interesting to see how not only the tour for this show goes, but how all of the touring shows are going to fare in the next year.

Saw Spring for the second time last Wednesday. It is and will always remain a marvellous evening of theatre for me. It just did not belong on Broadway I guess. I'm really looking forward to the London production (and am hoping for a Dutch one!)

My friend is at the show now and rushed this morning. She said the rush was crowded and she got last row seats in the mezzanine and she called me and said the line to get in the theater was pretty long and then once she got in, she texted me saying it's empty and they moved her seats to third row center mezzanine.

Odd...

MANY of the shows on ACL's list were only slated for limited runs....take those off the list and it's not quite as dramatic.

As far as the lines vs the fullness of the house: it's all a matter of perspective what seems crowded.

I remember even at Groff's last day, his last matinee was not sold out...just the evening. Much to my suprise.

SA hadnt had over 80% capacity is quite a long time. (with any consistency anyway) It never truly bounced back after the winter slump.

i saw the show for the first time today and i loved it. im surprised a show with that calibur would be hurting from the recession it looked pretty packed but that might be because it's closing. i thought that cast was great hunter parrish was great and i LOVED the girl who played wendla. idk how the compare to teh obc but i liked them alot.

what if susan blackwell hung out with boq, trekkie monster, the SOL soloist#2, and the piragua guy on a daily basis?

The last show appears to be sold out already. Damn. I might have to go to a broker or something to see this last performance.

Any suggestions?

Adam -- in case you aren't kidding -- between 3 and 4 hundred seats are being held for invited guests....I'd keep checking as some of them will get released as the date gets closer. (probably).

Weekends are always more full - during the week it has been dismal. (just check the grosses over the last few months)

No, I'm seriously not kidding. I know, I'm starting to sound like Coolkid, but I would really, really love to be there for the closing. I love this show, and want to be able to see it off. I've been fortunate enough to be at all of the milestone performances (the night after the Tonys, Gallagher's last, and Groff/Michele's last) and want to see this one, too. I'll be checking every day, I guess. Thanks, dramamama.

I know there'll be tickets on ebay. I bought like 4-6 tickets too many and mine will probably be on there re: Spring Awakening to Close January 18
