The booth was right outside of the Helen Hayes Theatre. TDF/TKTS holds a booth where there is a bin with thousands of little tickets and you pay $5 for 6 tickets. If the ticket that you pick out has a stamp on the inside of it, you get a pair of tickets to a show (or if you are unlucky, a CD). The tickets that you get are random and in a sealed envelope so you don't know what day you are seeing the show, or even what show, until you open the envelope they give you.
Winning a CD is unlucky? I'd call it more of a consolation prize.

Well when you are planning on opening that envelope to find two tickets to a show, and you get a coupon for a CD, usually one you've never heard of, I'd call it unlucky. Happened to me with every ticket I pulled last year!

If you pay $20 for 24 tickets, what are your odds of picking a Broadway show?

stevenycguy ~ Let's put it this way, for the past three years I've spent at least $20 there every year and have yet to win anything.
Next year I'll spend that $20 on something else thank you. :P

haha... I guess it's worth a shot to ask, but is there any chance, J-TAGS, you'd trade your Boeing Boeing for Gazillion Bubble Show or Tale of Two Cities?

Updated On: 9/21/08 at 10:09 PMDid you guys try exchanging with the crowd standing there doing just that? I did two trades and barely had my tickets in hand for 5 minutes.

Honey, nobody is going to trade Equus (or almost any of those, for that matter) for Awesome 80's Prom of Forbidden Broadway. I keep wondering when your insane level of entitlement will stop, and then you just keep at it.
