Xanadu to Rollerskate Off Broadway on Oct 12th |
Noooooooooooooooo!!! from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Didn't really see that coming.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I am so sorry to hear this. I wish everyone in the cast well and hope that they find future work easily.
Way to ruin my Big Brother buzz, Craig.
"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008
I'm so sad, and upset! I loved this show, I saw it twice and thought it was fantastic!!
Goodbye
Updated On: 9/16/08 at 10:11 PMDamn, was about to buy tickets for the last show when I realized I can't go that day. I'm going to have to see it again before then though.
WOW. This is a total shock. I was hoping it would last through the holidays and was planning on seeing it again around then.
Craig IS a moderator lol hence the validity
I bet those people that were bragging about knowing the next "big name" to enter the cast are biting their tongues now!
I'm so disappointed! I wanted to see this show so badly on my next trip to NYC...oh well...

It's about time. To think that this ran longer than Grey Gardens. . .
Let's hope TOS is next.

Do you know what happens when you let Veal Prince Orloff sit in an oven too long?
NOOOO!!!!!
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
At least it will live on in the tour, and I am sure it will be popular in regional theaters.
Still-sad to see it go-but all good things must come to an end. I'm happy to say that I got to see it twice.

Just when you think you know everything, life goes and takes a big bite out of your ass-and I've got the scars to prove it. - Dolores "The Wild Party"
This is very sad! What is the reason for the closing?
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
This is such sad news!
It's not by any means a perfect show but it's a hell of a lot of fun and it's really the best time you'll have on Broadway right now.
I hope to catch it at least one last time before it goes...the shame is it got BETTER with time, too, so I'm sure the longer it ran the better it would've been getting...
Such a high-energy, brisk, really well-put together show. I really hate to hear that it'll be gone in a month.
