Mine would have to be Big Man In Town in Jersey Boys.

I'm with Mary Rodgers. 'Floyd Collins' is just fine without 'Tween A Rock And A Hard Place'.

In my two favorite shows I have one song I dont like in each. In Sweeney its Wait. I have never likes the song sang by anyone. Its just a lost song for me even though there are weaker ones in the score. And for Kiss of the Spiderwoman I do not like I do Miracles.

Drift Away from Grey Gardens. Don't know why, I was just never a huge fan of that one.

When I'm listening to SITPWG, I always skip over 'The Day Off'.

That whole Parlour Songs thing from SWEENEY TODD. Excruciating.

Well, I can't pick one from Gypsy, Follies, Grey Gardens (Okay...maybe the cat number in Act II?) or She Loves Me. But the clambake song in Carousel has got to go, the "Parlor Songs" in Sweeney Todd are nice but slow the show down a little and there's some stuff I'd cut from The King and I.
BroadwayBoy2- "Your Daddy's Son"? Really? I think that's the best song in the score.
Weez- When did Mary say she didn't like "Tween a Rock and a Hard Place?" It's always fun to hear her opinions. She's a great lady. Oh, and I agree with her (and you) on that song too.

It is far from being my favorite show, but I loathed every second of Happy Talk in SOUTH PACIFIC.

I can't believe R&H couldn't have come up with something better than that horror.

jv - don't remember exactly where I read it, but if you buy the vocal score or license the show to perform, that song is no longer a part of the show, and apparently it was because Momma Rodgers put her foot down and refused to publish the show if it remained. Or something. The story stuck with me just because I found the mental images it provided so funny. XD

Bah, its too hard to choose one from Follies, but if forced to pick I guess I'd go with "Loveland" Its just a very good song in a score filled with perfect songs.

"Let Me Entertain You" with Baby/Dainty June and her Newsboys/Farmboys in Gypsy - Dainty/Farmboys is more tolerable simply because of the "Broadway, Broadway" intro by June

Never have been a fan of "Wonderful" from Wicked either.

I was never much a fan of 'Sentimental Man' in Wicked.

I know why it needs to be there, but that whole song could have just been shortened to a few lines of dialogue.

Em...'Your Eyes' in Rent, again I know it neeeeds to be there, but its never sat well with me.

Now, it's not my favourite show by any means, but 'One Step Closer' in Little Mermaid irks me. It just doesn't climax at all, just drifts into a finish.

Oh and 'Sure As The Moon' from Tarzan, again not my favourite show at all...but that song (the reprise is ok) just seems lame.

Some of these choices are kind of surprising. LOVELAND might not be the best song in FOLLIES, but it is probably the most important number in the show.
