Word over on ATC is that Jessica Lee Goldyn (currently playing Val but formerly a Cassie cover for the first year of the show's run) will be suiting up in red and playing the role of Cassie for the final week of performances of the current revival of A CHORUS LINE, with understudy Jennifer Foote assuming the role of Val at that time through the closing.
Has anyone heard anything similar? Both women who used to alternate the role (Jessica Lea Patty and Nadine Issenegger) have left the company, so understudy Kimberly Dawn Neumann has been playing both of Charlotte d'Amboise's scheduled days off in their stead.
d'Amboise is reported to be leaving the company this Sunday, so there also seems to be a two week window between her departure and Goldyn assuming the role.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Wow that would be fantastic but honestly, I will miss seeing her as Val if I see the show that week. I thought maybe they would bump up Kimberly but this is good too. Not too sure about Jennifer Foote. I saw her as Sheila and was really underwhelmed.
Why would Charlotte leave what is probably going to be her last chance to originate a role in a production just a couple weeks before closing?

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

I think Charlotte has a pre-scheduled obligation that last week. And I am sure she will originate more roles It took a while, but she got Cassie. I am sure she can do it again. Updated On: 7/15/08 at 12:10 AM
Chicago is a great show and a steady gig. Wopat is going right back in after Catered Affair shutters. Would not be surprised to see Charlotte back in those silver shoes with rhinestone buckles very soon.
Would Jessica be the youngest Cassie to play the role? I think she's the 2nd youngest in the cast right now. That would be really interesting and odd to see a 22-23 year old playing Cassie. We go from a decade too old to a decade younger.
Just got an email from her.. and yes as the above poster said she is going on for Cassie. According to her she's going on the last 8 performances for sure and covering Fridays and Sundays until then.
SOOOOO excited.
anything you do let it come from you and it will be new.

Charlotte is with the show until Aug. 10. I believe Nadine is still with the show until July 20. Goldyn as Cassie has been known for about three weeks now, and I guess she'll start covering Fri & Sun evenings after July 20.

Just to add on to the cast list thing: Apparently J. Elaine Marcos got injured and they're not sure if she's going to be able to close the show. That is what I heard on saturday, so I don't know what's going on as of now.
And Heather is taking a 2 week(I'm pretty sure) vacation to do Dirty Rotten Scoundrels & she said one of her understudies will be going on, but she didn't say who.
