DON KNOTTS CAN ACTUALLY ACT!!!#1
Posted: 7/14/08 at 12:52pm
To those of you here on this message board who think that Don Knotts can't act, well he CAN ACTUALLY act as he is a talented and gifted Jews Harp player having played since the age of 5 and having gone to Arkansas U for majoring in Jews Harp and Conducting/Performance. He is an accomplished Jews Haprist. On Inside The Actors Studio, James Lipton heard him play the Jews Harp on Mayberry RFD and that in his opinion he plays VERY VERY well. Don Knotts is a freaking brilliant Jews Harp player! And he can act and does act with perfection, comic brilliance, and exceptional performances every single time he steps out on a stage. He is a good singer. He plays to the audience and gets laughs and that is what a true professional actor is supposed to do.

I know that some of you prefer Norman Fell in the role. Jerry Lewis played the role too. Sean Hayes played Ralph Furley and the man himself gave him great reviews of his performance in Three's Company with impeccable timing and so real too. That is the highest compliment from actor to actor IMO. These awards are solid proof that YES, CAN act and ACTUALLY does just that every performance he is in. Don Knotts got alot of good reviews in his role as CHP Officer in the film, CANNONBALL RUN II starring Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise. In fact, the reviewers made comments that he was "under-used" and they would have liked to see more screen time with Don Knotts and a larger part in the film. So Don Knotts CAN ACTUALLY act.

You got that right! The late, great Don Knotts CAN definitely act. WOW! Right after his passing, one of his children was on Larry King Live and she was telling Larry King that her father would lock himself in his room to memorize his lines for an episode (The Andy Griffith Show and Three's Company) and he would memorize EVERYBODY'S lines too. He was perfection plus. He took his craft very seriously and so dedicated to each episode/role that he chose throughout his career. He is an ICON in the sitcom world and so loved too! He is truly missed!

Now Don Knotts would be great as Mr. Applegate.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

Of course he can (could) act.

And - seriously - Don Rickles is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Not sure about Dom Deluise but I do know he went to The High School for the Performing Arts....

Will and Grace is one of ONLY 3 sitcoms in television history for all 4 principal actors to win Emmys, the Show won an Emmy, James Burrows won Emmy for directing, other awards for set design, and other GLAAD awards, SAG awards, Golden Globe nominations, among others to include People's Choice awards twice. It is in the Top 50 All-Time Classics of shows of all time so not bad at all, not bad. And it ran for 8 seasons too. Groundbreaking, innovative and hilarious too. I am so glad that I am NOT a homophobe and see excellence when it is right in front of me.

Have a wonderful day!

Can I just say that Will & Grace has nothing to do with Don Knotts. Also just because Sean was on Will & Grace that has NO merit for you to post technical awards, & Emmys for the other stars it is supposed to be about Sean.

Lots of theatre performers have TV and movie credits and many are first class musicians. Some are part of or have been part of a very successful TV show and have equally as impressive if not more impressive credentials than Sean. That just makes them part of the team, not the reason for a show's success. Not all of them can translate such performance to the stage however. Can Sean? Not in my opinion. I saw the show yesterday and he simply doesn't have the chops. I kept looking for Eric McCormick and Megan M. to step out onto the stage. I was disappointed with the show anyway, but that's another thread.

Nuff said. Back on track.

I love Mr. Lippett! He was...incredible!! I liked The Apple Dumpling Gang too.

Thanks for the memories Sueleen. re: DON KNOTTS CAN ACTUALLY ACT!!!
