Happy 1st...in honor of the occasion I'll have to pull out my CD, which has been 'sleeping' for the past few months. Such a fun show, but definitely not a lifestyle choice, lol.
A very very happy birthday Xanadu!! All together now..... HUZZAH!!
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
Conan O'Brien
What?! It's already been a year?! That's crazy! It feels like just a few months ago that I found out Kerry was gonna star in it. Oh, wow. It's going so strong it's like it just came out.
Happy Birthday XANADU and may you run... atleast until the day I finally see you... which will be a long time. Lol. But I'm still crazy about you!!
Ahh memories! A year ago (tomorrow) I was across the street seeing Les Miserables and feeling a bit miserable wishing I could be across the street at Xanadu's opening.
Oh, and I remember seeing WonderRobbie outside the Helen Hayes before the crowds arrived. I recognized him from the youtube videos and his posts here but was too shy to say hello since I didn't really "know" him.
Kerry, Cheyenne, Tony, Mary, Jackie, Marty, Curtis, Andre, Kenita, Anika, Patti, Ryan, Kyle, James, Peter, Kate, Annie, DCB, Chris A, Dan K, the producers, the ushers... "In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." Sherie Rene Scott
And also a shout out to Ken, Luke and Sharon (god I hope I got their names right!) who gracefully stepped in and kept the show rolling when the show was short a few actors shortly after opening last summer.
KISSES TO ALL AND CONGRATULATIONS!
"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008
