I've noticed that a lot of people here are able to go to EVERY Broadway show, some twice or three times a week. Do you guys get discounts or are you all completely super-rich with a lot of money to blow?

It's a combination of rush, lottery, comps, TDF/TKTS, discount codes and having a job.

For my equation, subtract comps (don't know how to go about those) and add in not being a seat snob.

If you had to pay full price for every show & discounts & comps did not exist, how many could you see?

About a third of what I see now.

Probably one a month. I would also be a LOT pickier about what I see.

But the fact is, these things DO exist. :)

And that such things exist are wonderful. I used to think I was breaking the bank on every trip I made to the city, but between TDF, Hiptix, and TKTS (for only one show) on my last trip, I saw 9 shows in 7 days for $250.

After looking back at what I spent, it makes me wonder why I don't travel up north more!

Same here.

They exist for now.I remember when printed "twofers" used to be 1/2 off. TDF prices have risen as have Broadway Box

Eventually the discounts will get smaller & smaller much like food which looks the same but gives you an ounce or 2 less in the same container. This is like the death of a 1000 cuts.

Also, it's worth it to note that a few of the posters (i.e. the trolls and liars) probably don't see half the shows they say they do, and merely go on about how bad they are simply to annoy and feel empowered.

Don't know if you were including me in that, but yes, I have seen every show I post about having seen.

Discount codes, discount flyers, free tickets from friends, etc. If you play it right you won't have to pay full price for much.

I've only paid full-price for South Pacific and The Lion King.. (Wicked, if you include the full-price partial view ticket).

To answer your question, I can't. I just have access to money that is not mine.

Student rush.

I chose, and my world was shaken. So what? The choice may have been mistaken. The choosing was not.

TDF, discount codes, the occasional rush/lotto (though work makes it hard for me to do those except on weekends).

I generally only pay full price for one or two shows a year. Last season it was Young Frankenstein (oops) and The Little Mermaid (double oops). This season coming up, it looks like its going to be Equus (which I already bought full price $116.50 tickets for) and Billy Elliot. With the exception of a couple of musicals last year that I had to use discounts for (and the aforementioned full price shows) I was able to see everything I wanted to via TDF. It's amazing how much you can see with that service, if you're patient.

I rob banks but don't tell anyone. I don't want to get caught.

I use discount codes. If I lived in the city I'd probably use TKTS but since I'm over an hour away I prefer broadwaybox.com.

I also see more shows than I used to because I gave up waiting for my friends to be "free". I just started going on my own and never regretted it.
