I've been constantly listening to the OBCR, looking through my Playbill and souvenir program and watching video clips lately and it's making me realize how much I miss this gem of a musical. It was possibly the best musical of that season (although SPELLING BEE is neck-and-neck with it) and it deserved a much, much, MUCH longer run. I really miss it and I'm so sorry I only got to see it once. Anyone else miss this highly underrated show?

I loved the show. Saw it twice, in May right before the Tonys and a few months after Norbert won. He was absolutely brilliant!

The show was wonderful. You're right, it's a fantastic show!

Miss the show, and it's brilliant Original Cast!

I wouldn't say I miss it a lot, but it was enjoyable. I saw the tour once, and that was enough.

I think the show ran as long as it needed too. I miss Yazbek on Broadway, though. Glad he has a few projects coming up; he's one of the best musical comedy writers today.

And I never liked DRS as much as with the original cast. Saw it on Broadway and on tour, both with Butz, and felt, especially Sherie Rene Scott and John Lithgow elebated the weak book.

Thinking back on it, I don't think I've ever laughed harder in a theater than at DRS. It was consistently funny and I literally couldn't breathe after some brilliant comedic moments (the moment in "Here I Am" where the bellhop steps on the dog, anyone?).

I was onmy way to see TWS and I noticed the theatre on the way, and talked my mom into buying 2 tickets ($42) for this amazing show. Saw it again on tour. WHY MUST THE GOOD DIE YOUNG?

It's one of the ten best shows of the last 25 years, in my opinion. Bump!

Of course! DRS is definitely one of my favorites. I saw it with the original cast right before the Tonys and it was a riot! Norbert, John, and Sherie were amazing!

I wouldn't say I laughed the MOST during DRS, because that honor goes to Is He Dead? which also starred Norbert.

Yep! This one was fun too!

I saw the touring cast when they came to Buffalo and enjoyed it very much.

There's something about different modes of transportation and that show's music!

The OBC recording is lots of fun to sing along with on the thruway....and not a cruise goes by without leaning over the balcony and breaking into:

"Look at the way the moon behaves.
Look at the way she paints
A silver ribbon on the waves."

At least half a million times!

Thank you! I love this show so much and it was in my opinion the best show of the season. It should have won the Tony.

It should have won all the Tonys it was up for (so shoot me, I really miss it)!

Whenever I need a fix I just put on my broadcast-quality DVD of the original Broadway cast. Brings it all back being able to see the entire show again instead of playing the cast recording just to hear the songs. Its a whole different experience seeing Sherie Rene Scott perform "Here I Am" instead of just hearing her. re: Who else REALLY misses Dirty Rotten Scoundrels?

As luck would have it, I received last week a broadcast-quality DVD of the 1st US Nat'l Tour right after Norbert Leo Butz left the tour. Quite interesting seeing the production modifications that had to be done for the touring version.

I really miss this show. I was such a fan also seeing it twice. It would be great if it was aired on PBS or available on dvd.

I saw Jonathan Pryce in the show and then, years later, saw him in LA and praised him for the performance and he said it was some of the most fun he had ever had in his career.

Watching him work his (surprising) comedic magic on stage, I couldn't agree more.

I was just thinking about this show today, and how much fun it was. I was lucky enough to see it five times, three times from the front row, when the lotto was still for those seats.

Sherie performing "Here I Am" and the balcony scene with Muriel and Andre are two of my favorite parts of the show. It was just the perfect mixture of elegance and trash!

I do. Seeing the tour, with Tom Hewitt, gave me closure.
Because it will never be as good as it was with Norbert and Lithgow/Pryce.

Me!

It was such a great show, and every time I went to see it, something different would happen that would made me laugh.

It will always hold a special place in my heart.

I feel like saying more would be reduntant considering how much I said when it was running...
