DON'T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB is where Broadway goes to let its hair down. The late night happening of improv, music, sketches and stories was created by its stars: industry mainstays STEVE ROSEN (Monty Python's Spamalot, The Farnsworth Invention), DAVID ROSSMER (Fiddler on the Roof, Titanic), SARAH SALTZBERG (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and music director DAN LIPTON (Paris Commune, The Coast of Utopia).
DON'T QUIT benefits Open Doors, the Theatre Development Fund's theatre arts mentoring program for high school students, started in 1998 by TDF with playwright Wendy Wasserstein. Its goal is to explore the relevance of theatre in the lives of today's youth. The program matches distinguished theatre and dance professionals with students who have no prior exposure to theatre for an entire school year. Mentors accompany students to performances on and off Broadway, introducing them to the artists who create and perform NYC theatre.
DQYNJ is proud to have raised over $20,000 for Open Doors since June 2006.
Sounds amazing! And I will be there this month. :) I actually bought my ticket like 3 weeks ago. LOL!

I just got tickets. I've always wanted to go to one of these, but never been able to.
One question though: the "special guests" that are listed- do they usually show up or is it one of those things where at the last minute a ton of people cancel?
I have been to the last 4 and usually all the guests show. Last time, Lea Delaria was supposed to be there and I was looking SO forward to seeing her. The show was so good that I didn't realize she wasn't there until like a few days ago...lol.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
Anyone know if Daniel Evans is still currently scheduled to be there tonight? Playbill and the Don't Quit website has him listed, but BWW and the Don't Quit myspace doesn't.
I would guess that he would be, if he is listed on the website. Unless it is an error. Yay! Only 4 more hours until I catch my bus in for a wonderful, but probably tiring 2 days.

Aim for 11 at the latest, and pick up your ticket in advance if you can to avoid the usually monstrous line!
I can't wait! Should be a blast as always!
