Who Got Robbed at This Year's Tony Nom?#1
Posted: 5/13/08 at 10:08am
I have to say that I am supprised that Laura Linney did not get a nomiation. I am also suprise that Sherie Rene Scott did not get one either (She was the best thing about The Little Mermaid)~~

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

The Little Mermaid was pretty much snubbed all around.

I'm also suprised at the list of nominees for Best Musical.
No Catered Affair or Young Frankenstein! re: Who God Robbed at This Year's Tony Nom?

I don't think God robbed anyone.

I do think Cheyenne Jackson GOT robbed, though re: Who God Robbed at This Year's Tony Nom?.
I'm not too surprised that Sherie Rene Scott wasn't nominated.

Who GOD robbed? Oh, do you really think God gives a sh*t about the Tony awards? Perspective, folks: It makes you feel warm.

I am sad about the following:
A CATERED AFFAIR-
IS HE DEAD
Cry Baby being nominated for BEST MUSICAL??? I am sorry, I liked A CATERED AFFAIR MUCH MORE!
I liked Young Frankenstein much more than CRY BABY.
Glad about Xanadu.I would have liked to see:
Norbert- IS HE DEAD
JACKIE HOFFMAN- XANADU
CHEYENNE-XANADU
MARY TESTA Xanadu

Glad Danny Burstein was nominated as well as Daniel Breaker- They rock.

I would have loved to see Colman nominated for supporting as he stole the show (PASSING STRANGE) when he sings: "WHATS INSIDE IS JUST A LIE"
Congrats to Stew. Sad Harvey was snubbed.

I wonder who will win? I adored IN THE HEIGHTS, XANADU and PASSING STRANGE. I just think A CATERED AFFAIR should have been nominated.

i am shocked that Cry Baby was nominated!!! I am one of the few people who actually liked the show, but I did not think it would be nominated since it seems like it's so hated. I loved Young Frankenstein...I did not see Sutton in it, but I was a bit surprised she wasn't nominated...anyone else?

I REALLY wanted Mary, Jackie, and Cheyenne to get nominations for Xanadu...basically that show all around is my favorite and I hope it wins!

This is the most lackluster year in recent memory. As for who got robbed, hard to say but the person and show which comes to mind is Is He Dead and Butz. I'm not too surprised by the other "snubs". I still don't get Kerry Butler at all, let alone for a Tony nod.

No Wanna... I did not get a chance to see it so no I should NOT be saying she was robbed but I have yet to ever see her in anything that I have not liked... I mean she even brought some amazing moments to what was a slight snoozefest called The Savages....

So go ahead, rip me a new one for commenting on something I did not see.. I am sure that is what you are gunning for.

Mary Beth Peil. I mean, I like Andrea Martin and all, but really.

And although I was really rooting for Eisa Davis to get a nod, I'm happy for de'Adre Aziza.
