General Feinstein's Questions#1
Posted: 4/13/08 at 6:14pm
I've seen the place mentioned on here ~ and I know that it's in a hotel and stuff...

If you do will call, is it clear where you pick up your tickets?

What's the difference between general and preferred seating (besides cost)?

Is there a stage door somewhere?

Generally, for those who have gone to things there before, what is it like?

Thanks! :)

You get your tkts at the door, well the entrance to the room.
There is no stage door, but the performers sometimes hang out in the club or the lobby of the hotel.
Don't know about the seating, havd always just been seated by the host.

It's a long room with fairly good site lines because it is so open.
Choose your poisens carefully, it's tres expensive,

Thanks! Yeah, my friend and I have already figured we'll eat a cheap dinner somewhere beforehand and do the minimum in desserts and/or drinks. :)

I went to Feinstein's twice last year to see Linda Eder. The room is small, and intimate and, unless you're behind the piano, then you'd have an obstruction.

Seating is assigned by the club prior to your arrival. Never had a problem with a bad table. In May when I saw her, there was a food/drink minimum, which I think was $50 per person, in addition to the cover charge, which was $75. For New Year's Eve, everything was included in the cover, which was $225 per person....dinner, drinks, dessert, show, noise makers, gift bag, etc... That was such a bargain....New Year's Eve with Linda Eder and the whole experience.

I wouldn't call Feinstein's expensive at all. You gotta look at the big picture. You're seeing a wonderful artist, and their orchestra, who all have to get paid. You're having a great experience and, if you went out before the show and had a meal at a restaurant, it would be the same price. Don't "nickle and dime" the evening. Go out and have a wonderful time. That's what it's all about.

In May, when the show was over with, she left. New Year's Eve, she sat at her table with her friends and was very nice. My friend and I told her what a good time we had.

You'll love Feinstein's. Enjoy!

Thanks. When I bought the tickets, they said the show has a $25 min food/beverage. They didn't mention a cover on top of the ticket and the food/beverage. Eek!

Ok...set even more money aside I guess.

the cover charge i think neal was referring to was the "ticket" price.

Are you speaking about the Adam Pascal show, btw?

It changes from show to show. I'm not sure based on what, though.

... I need to buy a ticket for Adam's show there.

Sure hope you have a good time. Also, one more thing....don't forget that the tip that you'll leave for the waiter, is based off the FULL amount....ticket/cover and the minimum. Don't base the tip just on the food/drink minimum. It's the entire amount.

I was at Feinstein's several times to see Carol Channing. The menu has a variety of prices and the food is served nicely and it's very good.

There's no stage door, but prior to the shows Carol had arranged for me to visit her in her dressing room afterwards and the dressing room is off the kitchen. I don't know if Emily Skinner will do the same.

Will do! June 1 (and probably 8 as well...that's the day before my friend's birthday and the night after the Overnight Walk I'm doing) cannot get here soon enough!
