My little sister and I are going to see TLM on Wednesday- we're so excitedGood place for lunch before . We're from Maryland, and usually are so frazzled trying to get to the theater on time we just grab McDonalds as we walk, but we would love to go to enjoy a real New York sit-down lunch experience. We should be in the city by 11- any tips of restaurants close to the theater? Also, does the cast usually come out after matinees?

Ellen's Stardust Diner...Its such a fun place...The whole wait staff sings...Some people who are now on broadway used to work there...The one I can think of right now is Michael Longoria, hes in Jersey Boys...Ellen's is on 51st and Broadway...I believe its about 5 blocks from TLM...Have a great time! :)

Juniors... then you can cut right thru that drive way under the Marriott to the theatre.

I second Vynl (only it's spelled "Vynl").

That place rocks.

Ruby Foo's is nice, if a bit touristy for sushi and Asian

If you want to walk up a few blocks, try Brasserie 8 1/2--a beautiful room on 57th

You might also want to check out www.menupages.com--you can do searches by neighborhood and check out the menus too!

I second either Juniors or Ellen's. Have fun!

There is a Sushi place on 46th between 8th and 9th called Ocha. It is good and affordable, I can usually get full for less than $15 a person. And it's kind of the main restaurant strip so it shouldn't be too crowded or touristy.

John's Pizzeria, West 44th between 7th & 8th. It serves pizza and Italian and it's in a former church.

We've never needed reservations for Ellen's, although at certain times the waiting line can get long. If there's only two of you, they might have an easier time squeezing you in somewhere.

I may be in a minority, but I was very, very disappointed by John's...

John's is good, but for the truly unique John's experience, you have to go to the original one in the west village, the one in Hells Kitchen doesn't hold a candle to the expansion location!

Ollie's, Haru, and there a nice little french place that's practically across from the theatre. Ellen's is always a lot of fun especially if you've never been though the food leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.

If you don't go to Juniors for pre-show dinner, it's nice to go for dessert after a show!
