How well does Ave Q play in large theaters on tour? It will be here in Buffalo in May and the theater is a 3,000 seat former movie palace (a really beautiful theater). How well will the puppets carry (be seen) in a place that large?

From what I heard it isn't as bad as people might think. My cousin saw it in LA which played at a decent size theatre and was towards the back due to that was where the cheap seats were. She had no trouble seeing the puppets at all.

I think that this is not as much of a problem as people are making it out to be really.

A couple weeks ago the tour came through St. Louis at the Fox Theatre which is HUGE and it all worked out well. Everyone could see everything no matter where they were sitting.

I saw it over Thanksgiving at the Benedum in Pittsburg (which is quite huge too), and though the set seemed tiny in the theater, it worked out very well. We were pretty high up in the balcony (last minute decision to get tickets), and didn't have any problems seeing anything. I was worred that it would lose some its charm by not playing in a small house, but was still great!

Thanks for the info. I was worried about it but not any longer.
