She's starting to smell of desperation.

"Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a Democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama."

Ummmm...Goth, dear?

You're about a week behind in your analysis of the situation.

Even Fox News and the NY Post noticed she won big last night.

This primary changes all the time. The next weeks leading up to Penn. should be interesting.

I have a question about the convention. Is it true that after the first ballot, if a candidate isn't chosen, delegates can vote any way they want?

No. If she wasn't feeling the heat, she wouldn't be thinking about a Clinton/Obama ticket.

"I have a question about the convention. Is it true that after the first ballot, if a candidate isn't chosen, delegates can vote any way they want?"

"Should voting for a standard bearer at the convention go to a second ballot, however, delegates will not be bound at that point to vote in line with the primary election results."

And apparently at that point Gore is supposed to swing in on a vine, or a holy chariot or something since some time int he last 8 years he visited the wizard and got a heart, or a brain, or some balls, I'm not really sure.

What probably will happen is that no one will get the nomination after the first ballot. At that point all of the pledged delegates are free to vote whatever way they want and my guess is they will vote for the candidate who has the momentum at the time. Like it or not, last night changed the election again and either candidate can win.

If Gore swings in at all it would be well before the convention. The whole point of them asking him to moderate is to have a declared winner before the convention actually takes place.

He still reached the required number of delegates. And he didn't need any Superman delegates in case the common man is too stupid to make the correct choice.

And actually, I hope Ms Clinton can maintain her "Buzz" because a Clinton/Obama ticket would be far more likely than an Obama/Clinton one. But either would be a dazzling moment in US political history.

Joe - a few months ago I would have agreed that Clinton/Obama is far more likely, but right now I'm not so sure. I never thought she'd be anybody's VP, but I just don't see him acquiescing if he goes into Denver with more committed delegates and more popular votes. In that scenario, I think they still run the risk of alienating potential Rep and Indy crossovers if they put Clinton on top of the ticket.

Yea... That makes a lot of sense that Republicans and Independents would vote for a candidate who is practically socialist against a candidate who is more moderate...Right....

Gotham, its called the best of the worst for the Republicans. The best they have is a 71 year old veteran who will follow the same policies for the next, 8, er, however many years he lives after the first year in office. The Republicans are praying for Obama because that's the only chance they have.

Clinton is a lot of thing but desperate she is not.

Back to a previous point made -- McCain is a very scrappy politician. Truthfully having watched him fight through all the adversity that he has this year positively frightens me more than ever.

I really hoped he would not be the nominee. Those grainy images of him begin shot out of a plane of Hanoi. just kill a person. (Which reminds me: what what Gloria thinking? Nutbag.) It would be a huge mistake to underestimate him. The key is to make him lose his temper ideally in October. Believe me, he has one and it's nasty! Personally I could work for a Clinton/Obama ticket -- it would be really formible. Although I would prefer to see a Clinton/Richardson ticket -- now that would be a winner.

Hillary may indeed smell of desperation.

McCain smells of Old Spice and Ben Gay.
