If the entertainment industry isn't dead, this will kill it for sure.

"Filmmakers are reluctant to launch any production that cannot be completed before the expiration of the Screen Actors Guild's major film and TV contract on June 30 -- a date being treated as the union's de facto strike deadline."

What's more annoying about this strike is that actors of the caliber of Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep are asking the SAG leaders to start negotiations early to avoid a strike, and the leaders are saying that it's too soon for that. Seriously???
I hope it doesn't affect the TV shows again. And will this mean NINE won't be starting production any time soon? re: Actor's Strike

Another question is, how many actors are willing to cross the picket lines for work? The SAG strike in 2000 demonstrated that the answer to that is 'quite a few.'

The last time the struck the studios recruited a bunch of fresh faces to fill the gap, most notably Collin Ferret (I think that play on words was Elphaba's, btw).

Just so we all know what we have to look forward to.

It means any movie actor with any sense is scrambling to book a Broadway show.

This is HORRIBLE, and clearly, all Hilary's fault.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

Trust me, the actors do not want a strike. The industry hasn't even begun to recover from the writers' strike. Actors like to work - they've chosen this career for love. They're hungry now - creatively as well as financially.

Edited for bad apostrophe placement. re: Actor's Strike

No one wants the actors to strike either.
My ex is a film accountant and he worked all through the WGA strike, thank God, but he told me the strike that would leave him jobless for a while would be the SGA strike. I really hope the leaders start negotiations way before any strike occurs.
