Sad but not unexpected.

That's a shame. It wasn't the greatest show ever written, but it was fun and one of the most enjoyable nights at the theater I have ever had.

There's a lot I am not certain of...

Such a shame. I think this season has been so full of amazing shows that this show just got lost in the shuffle. I will definitely be trying to get back before the 9th... probably next Saturday.

That's too bad. Our family's coming up for Easter weekend and that's one of the shows we were thinking of getting tickets for.

[Edited to move possible "hijack" question to a more appropriate thread.]

David Pittu needs to find a new show ASAP.

So unfortunate...I had such a great time at this show.

I'm upset as I had tickets for mid March. re: Is He Dead? Not Yet...On March 9, He Will Be Does anyone have experience with refunds from Telecharge in this situation?

Thanks!

It's unfortunate. The show is so much more than you can see on a poster or in an advertisement.

Any clues about what is moving into the Lyceum?
There are a few options:
-[title of show]
-The Scottish Play
-New Jerusalem (Though Circle in the Square appears to be more likely.)
-Stalag 17 (No official word on the cancellation of the run, although the producer died.)

Too bad N2N gave up on getting in this season. This could potentially work for it.

"Any clues about what is moving into the Lyceum?"

The NY Times is reporting Macbeth will be taking over the Lyceum.

Sorry to hear that. In some seasons of recent memory, it would have run a year, turned a profit and probably garnered some Tony nominations. Sad, sad, sad comment on the state of non-musical Broadway theatre.

I still think Norbert Leo Butz is going to be nominated. His performance was critically lauded, deservedly, and he has been attributed to the show's overall success...regardless of how successful it's run might have been.

I completely agree with pli about Norbert. I also think this show deserved a much better run. No, it's not the greatest show ever but it's one of the more refreshingly different ones out there right now.

This is very, very, sad news.

To think that shows like Wicked and Legally Blonde are still running, while shows like Is He Dead? close in less than a year.

Let's hope the same fate doesn't fall on other great shows. I won't name names, so I won't jinx them.

What a shame. I just got back from tonight's performance, and I truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the theater had a lot of empty seats, but the cast was incredible.(Especially Norbert).

I've worked every performance of this show except the very first preview. I feel so bad for this amazing cast. They give everything they've got for some very small audiences. Tonight's audience was maybe the worst I've witnessed. Not really laughing all that much, but the cast gave it their all. And now I'll admit to having a small crush on David Pittu.
